She was 102. The funeral will be held at Southside Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Meridian, with Dr. Wayne Riley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Meridian under the direction of Barham Funeral Home of Meridian. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. to service time Friday. Casket bearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Stanford had served as an Army Nurse in World War I and also in World War II. She and her husband were residents of Ponca City for more than 30 years. Mrs. Stanford was a registered nurse and served as supervisor of the New Born Nursery at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for many years. Mrs. Stanford was also a Bible teacher and lecturer on a radio program for more than 28 years. After her retirement, she moved to Meridian, Miss., where she made her home with a daughter and son-in-law, and assisted them with their missionary activities. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Meridian. Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Foster of Meridian, Mary Sue Armstrong of Olympia, Wash; one son, Porter of Canton, Ga.; one son-in-law; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Porter Thomas Stanford and one son, Charles.
