Tracy Hinkle

Stillwater resident Tracy Hinkle, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at home.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home. Interment will
follow in Carney Cemetery.

Hinkle was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Pocahontas, Ark., to William M. and Alice
(Upshaw) Hinkle.

He married Melba Kelly in 1939. She died in 1955. 

In 1956, Hinkle married Emma Lee Lane.

Hinkle began a successful career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1937.
He lived in Bartlesville, Cushing and Ponca City before moving to Stillwater in
1944.

He loved his family, fishing, Oklahoma State University sports and Southwestern
Bell.

In addition to his first wife and parents, he was predeceased by five brothers,
Roy, Charlie, Bill, Perry and Mac Hinkle, and four sisters, Novella Baker,
Tillie Harris, Vida Brewer and Ida Hagar.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Jerry Hinkle and his wife
Faith of Aurora, Ind., and Lance Hinkle of Stillwater; one daughter, Patsy
Hinkle of Oklahoma City; a step-son, Larry Lane; four grandsons, Kevin Hinkle
and his wife Mary, Kelly Hinkle and his wife Teri, Kris Hinkle and his wife
Bridget and Jerry Hinkle Jr. and his wife Holly, all of Indiana; one
granddaughter, Jennifer Blaylock of Tulsa; and three great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be Shelby Wright, Wayne Harris, Dick Shults, Wallace McClary,
Chuck Melbourne and Lefty Little.

Memorials may be made to the Life Adult Day Center of Stillwater, 411 W.
Mathews, Stillwater, Okla., 74074, or to the Stillwater Humane Society
