Voth July 13, 1924 - Mar. 20, 2007 Darleene (Dee) Voth was born July 13, 1924, in Centerville, CA to Frederick and Alma Kelm. The oldest of four children, she was raised on a family farm outside of Blackwell, OK. After attending the local schools she graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing of Wichita, KS in 1945. She met and married Dr. Henry W. Voth on January 28, 1950. They moved to Shafter, CA where she assisted him in establishing his medical practice. She left the nursing profession to raise three boys. During this time she was a longtime member with the Cub Scouts, Lady Lions Club, and past president of both the Shafter PTA and the Shafter Women's Club. Her children grown, she resumed her nursing career in 1976. She later retired as a Post-Op nurse at Kern Medical Center in 1986. She is preceded in death by her father, Frederick; mother, Alma; and sisters, Virginia and Gretchen. She is survived by her three sons, Jonathan of Fresno; James of Shafter; Joe and wife, Stella of Bakersfield; sister, Patricia Thomas and husband, Bill of La Mirada; grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all but none more so than by the three fine sons she raised. Visitation begins today Thursday, March 22, from 2-8 p.m., at Peters Funeral Home-Shafter, CA. Services are Friday, March 23, 2:00 p.m., at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Shafter Cemetery.
