Uncle Billie has been ailing for the past six months, but only in the last month has his case been considered hopeless. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Woodward, of that church the G.A.R. and the Odd Fellows attened the funeral to pay the last respects to their departed brother, and many of our towns people assisted in the service to this memory. The building was wholly inadequate and quite a number stood through the service, both inside and outside the church. Uncle Billie was as well known as any man in the city and was highly regared for his probity, fidelity and unflinching honesty. He was city treasurer for several terms and was as good a one as we have ever had. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their great loss.
