Legal discription is section 33, township 18, and range 9. It is # 25 on our map. It measures 200 ft. X 325 ft. Tom Venable gave one acre of ground and William Huddlestone for the cemetery. Mr. Huddlestone and his family came from England and had three children born there. On the voyage to America one child died and was burried at sea and another was ill and required constant care. In the early days a family of a mother and 2 small sons was traveling seeking a home and stopped at the Venable farm as there was water there. In the morning the mother and sons were hunting a rabbit for breakfast and the one son shot the mother by mistake. This tragic death of the young mother was the first burial in the new cemetery in an unmarked grave. The cemetery is still in use today and John Huddlestone a son of William was a Union soldier and died of smallpox and Mrs. Huddlestone lived on the place in a two room house and raised seven children on her pension she received which was $20.00 a mo. Later being raised to $40.00. The family still lives in the area. The cemetery is measured off in lots and the graves numbered as follows; Recorded by Mary Lou Morgan 12/27/99 Lots Grave # Name and dates 83 6 ALTERGOTT, Jacob June 27, 1896---Oct. 5, 1965 83 5 ALTERGOTT, Augusta Oct. 5, 1895---Jan. 9, 1982 124 3 BARNETT, Wm.
