David was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Okarche to Vince and Alta M. (Gilles) Mueggenborg. He lived in the Okarche and Kingfisher area his entire life. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1968 and entered the Air National Guard for six years. He was self-employed as a farmer and construction worker for 30 years. He married Jean Hendrix on May 3, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a wonderful father and a loving grandfather. He was willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Okarche, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. Jean Elizabeth (Hendrix) Mueggenborg was born to Lt. Col. Samuel B. and Ina Mae (Noel) Hendrix Jr. on Sept. 26, 1950, at Ft. Ord, Monterey, Calif. She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1969 and attended OSU. Upon her return from Wichita, Kan., she entered the real estate business with her father. She worked for the Community National Bank in Okarche for many years. For the last two and a half years, she worked for Sprint in Oklahoma City. They are survived by their children and grandchildren: one son, John David Mueggenborg of Okarche; two daughters, Vaynna Borelli and husband Greg, and their children, Grant, Trey, and Tyler of Kingfisher, and Kelle Witt and husband Wade, and their daughter, Ashtin of Kingfisher. Also surviving is David's mother, Mrs. Alta (Gilles) Mueggenborg of Okarche; and their brothers and sisters, Carol Murray and son, James Murray of Okarche, Dr. Samuel B. and wife, Dr. Joan Hendrix III of Norman, Raymond and wife, Marilou Mueggenborg, Karl and wife, Karla Mueggenborg, Andy and wife, Joan Mueggenborg, all of Okarche, Jerry and wife, Annisa Mueggenborg of Surrey Hills, Louise Hubbard and husband Wiley, Edna Edwards of Okarche, Carol Schroeder and husband, Buddy of Loyal, Judy Grellner and husband, Jim of Kingisher, Arlene Schroeder and husband, Doug of Houston, Texas, Faye Mueggenborg of Piedmont and numerous nieces and nephews. They are preceded in death by David's father, Vince Mueggenborg, his brother, Joe F. Mueggenborg, Jean's parents, grandparents and her uncle, Elmer Bomhoff. A Wake was held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with the Rev. Edward Weisenburger officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Memorials by be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research. --- Roy A. Beeman: B550 Roy A. Beeman, of Independence, Kan., formerly of Dover, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at Mercy Hospital in Independence. Visitation hours will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and noon-8 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends from noon-1 p.m., at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dover Cemetery. Military rites will be held at graveside. He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Altoona, Kan., to Nathan N. and Nellie Mae Beck Beeman. He married Betty Jean McClelland in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1961. He married Marilyn Kay Cowman in Henryetta in 1962. He graduated from Dover High School. He attended Labette County Com- munity College at Parson, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, as a staff sergeant with Company A, 29th Division, 115th Infantry. He fought at Omaha Beach during the Nor- mandy Invasion in France. He was an electrical engineer and regional sales manager with the MEC in Neodesha, Kan., retiring in 1985. He was a 40 year member of the First Christian Church, where he served as an elder, trustee, deacon, property chair and member of Future Planners Sunday School class. He was also a life member of the VFW and American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of the home; two sons, Gary Beeman of Parsons and Randy Beeman of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Rojean Jones of Enid and Michelle Woodruff of Edmond; 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. --- Jonie Jene Phillips Pitts: P300 Jonie Jene Phillips Pitts, 58, of Oxford, Kan., died Monday, May 27, 2002, at her home. Funeral services were set for 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Oxford Christian Church with Rev. Danny Ginn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Kingfisher Cemetery. She was born on Oct. 25, 1943, in Arkansas City, Kan. to Tommy O. and Valda Wilhelm Phillips. She married Arthur Donald Pitts on Dec. 31, 1998, in Miami. She was reared in the Arkansas City and Newkirk area. The family moved to Oxford in 1957, where she attended Oxford schools. She worked for several years as an aide at the Oxford Public Library. Survivors include her husband, Don of the home; one son, Phillip Wimmer of Lebanon, Ore.; three daughters, Ronda Davis of Oxford, Kathryn Wimmer of Portland, Ore., and Heather Hill of Hays, Kan.; tow sisters, Phyllis Hege of Oxford and Tommy Gay Evans of New Orleans, La., one stepbrother, David Harned of Dallas, Texas, and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Georgianna Phillips, and sister, Sylvia Howard. --- Charles L. Ringwald: R524 Charles L. Ringwald, 68, of Enid, formerly of Kingfisher, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his home. A graveside service was held Wednesday at the Enid Cemetery with Pastor Michael Frisbee officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Anderson- Burris Funeral Home of Enid. He was born June 30, 1933, in Perkins to Leslie Lee and Frances Naomi Myrick Ringwald. He married Leticia Villarosa on April 18, 1986, in Wellington, Kan. He attended school at Ripley, then served in the Marine Corps from 1952- 1955, in the Korean War. He then worked in the oil fields. He resided in Kingfisher for 20 years before moving to Enid in 1994. He was a member of the DAV, American Legion and VFW. His hobby was hunting with metal detectors. Survivors include his wife, Leticia of the home; three sons, Clifford and Calvin, both of Oklahoma City, and Clinton of Luther; one daughter, Charlet of the home; eight brothers, Bennie of Fort Worth, Texas; Bob and James, both of Guthrie, Gerald of Enid, Albert of Norman, Troy of Blanchard, Dennis of Purcell and Leroy of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Hazel Price of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joyce Ringwald of Duncan and Mary Jerome of Lahoma; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was a member of the White Mountain Christian Church, where he served on the church board. Reta: R300 Phyllis K. Reta, 50, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Concho, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. A wake was held Thursday at Sand Creek Memorial Hall. Funeral services were held Friday at Sand Creek Memorial Hall. Burial was in Concho Cemetery. She was born March 15, 1952, in Lawton to Stanley and Pearl Tallbull Sleeper. She married Marcelo Reta Jr., a career soldier. They lived on many bases over the world. She had lived in Denver for the past 22 years. Survivors include her husband, Marcelo of the home; one daughter, Roxann Sleeper of Denver; two sons, John Carlos Reta and Marcelo M. Reta III, both of Denver; one brother, Angelo Sleeper of El Reno; four sisters, Ruth Ann Sleeper of Oklahoma City, and Rose Logaugh, Mary Little and Sandra Bedoka, all of El Reno, and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. He was born March 19, 1922, in Okarche to Herman and Emilie Meyer Schroeder. He married Minnie Rott on Feb. 16, 1947. They lived on the family farm until moving to Okarche in 1962. He was a graduate of Okarche High School. He was a farmer-rancher and a carpenter until retirement. The couple was named Farm Bureau's "Farm Family of 2000" for Canadian County. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She was born in Oklahoma City in 1944 and had resided in Amarillo for the past 34 years. She married Harold Wayne Klingsick on May 28, 1966, in Oklahoma City. She was employed as a library assistant at Amarillo College and was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Erma Lumpkin of Ardmore; one son, Marcus Klingsick and wife Teresa of Newkirk; one daughter, Whitney Knepp and husband David of Amarillo; two brothers, William E. Lumpkin Jr. and Harold L. Lumpkin, both of Ardmore; a sister-in-law, Lola Hamil of Cashion, and four grandchildren. --- Dwayne Johnson: J525 Dwayne Johnson, 71, of Crescent died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. A memorial service was set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Crescent with Pastor Curtis Ward officiating. Burial is under direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home of Enid. He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Crescent to Edward and Emma Farley Johnson. He married Sieglinde Pfeifer on Nov. 15, 1961. They resided on a farm north of Crescent. He graduated from Crescent High School and served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Arrangements were under direction of Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie. He was born April 23, 1918, in Coyle to Bernard and Lulu Ellen Short. Survivors include two sons, Wesley Short and wife Charleen and Raymond Lee Short, all of Cashion; one daughter, Margaret Hool and husband Dwayne of Waco, Texas; one sister, Annabelle Kennard of Arcadia; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena in February 2001, and one brother, Lee Bernard Short. --- James W. Duffy: D100 James Willard "Jim" Duffy, 53, of Owasso, formerly of Okarche, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kingfisher. Burial was in Kingfisher Cemetery. He was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Okarche to Willard and Ruth Helt Duffy. He graduated from Okarche High School and attended Central State College. He, his brother, Ray and their father developed and manufactured Bermuda Sprigger and Bermuda Digger machines, which became known over the world as Bermuda King Inc. The late President Lyndon B. Johnson purchased one of the machines. Survivors include one daugher, Chancey Hailey of Owasso; two sons, Clint and Adam, both of Owasso; two sisters, Wilma Jo Duffy of Yukon and Judy Carol Duffy of Kingfisher, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. --- Helen Electra Price: P620 Helen Electra Price, 82, of Mineral Wells, Texas, a former resident of Kingfisher, died Sunday, June 9, 2002, in the Mineral Wells Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Baum-Carlock- Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. John Tunnell and Bobby Williams officiating. Burial followed in the East Side Lingleville Cemetery in Lingleville, Texas, under direction of Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. She was born April 19, 1920, in Boise City to Ernest and Myrtle Garrett Price. She married E. M. Price on April 14, 1966, in Mexico. They resided in Mineral Wells since 1985. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, E. M. Price; one daughter, Diana Tharp of Oklahoma City; one son, Dennis Kale of Wichita, Kan.; two stepsons, Ronald Price and Gerry Price, both of Odessa, Texas; one stepdaughter, Mona McBride of Odessa, and seven grandchildren. --- Francis Martin Schwartz: S632 Word has been received of the death of Francis Martin Schwartz, 80, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Kingfisher, who died Feb. 28, 2002. A Mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher at 10 a.m. Saturday. He was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Okeene to Paul and Stella Schwartz. He married Joan Riddiford of Kingfisher. He married Chongrug Puangsaard in 1994. He was a 1939 graduate of Kingisher High School. He graduated from St. Benedict's College in Atchison, Kan., in 1942. He served as a midshipman in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1944. Following the war, he and his wife resided in Chicago where he studied at the School of Dentistry at Loyola University, graduating in 1948. He taught at Loyola University before entering into private practice in the early 50s. His interests and hobbies were history and politics, philosophy, theol- ogy, health sciences and tennis. Survivors include his wife, Chongrug; one son, Francis Schwartz and wife Phyllis of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Katharina Shelanskey and husband Gary of Illinois, and three grandsons. **************************************************************************** Sunday, June 16, 2002 Beulah Green: G650 Beulah Green, 90, of Hennessey died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Hennessey with Rev. Randy Burke officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, under direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. She was born June 2, 1912, in Coldwater, Kan., to Burton W. and Susie Martin Maris. She married John H. Green on Jan. 9, 1936, in Guthrie. He preceded her in death in 1965. They lived on farms near Guthrie, Mulhall, Marshall and Welch. They moved to Hennessey in 1962. She was employed as a desk clerk and switchboard operator at the local motel for 15 years, retiring in January 1978. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eastern Star Chapter No. 37 of Hennessey. She served as a worthy matron of the chapter for five years. Survivors include one brother, George Maris and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, one sister, Alice Lindeley, and three brothers, Jimmy Maris, Thomas Maris and David Maris. --- Clarence Dunkelberger: D524 Clarence Elmer Dunkelberger, 70, of Torrance, Calif., nephew of King- fisher resident Mildred Carter, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held Thursday at Halverson Stone and Meyer Funeral Chapel in Torrance. A service will be held at the Methodist Church in Toronto, Kan., at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18. Burial will be in Toronto Cem- etery, under direction of Cambell Kelly Mortuary. He was born July 29, 1931, to Elmer and Genevieve Webber Dunkelberger. He was reared in Kingfisher, moving to California in 1941 with his parents. He served in the Korean Conflict as a military police officer. He was employed by the Dover Elevator Company, where he later retired. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Sapienza and husband Francis of Carrollton, Texas, and Jami Clark and hus- band Robert of Toronto; one sister, Gerenne Anne Chandler and husband Kenny of Corona, Calif.; one brother, Robert Joel Dunkelberger and wife Lynn of Redondo Beach, Calif., and five grandchildren. **************************************************************************** Wednesday, June 19, 2002 Mildred Freeman Harrell: H640 Mildred Harrell passed away on June 14, 2002, at Jewish Hospital at the age of 97. Services were held at noon Monday, June 17, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky., followed by burial in the Resthaven Memorial Park. She was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma (Indian Territory) in 1904, the daughter of the late Dr. Rufus W. and Ada E. Freeman of Kingfisher (Duncan) where Dr. Freeman practiced medicine from 1900-1921. She was the widow of Herbert Clinton Harrell. Mrs. Harrell is survived by her daughter, Mary Jeanne Harrell Brown of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandsons, Clinton D. Brown of Crestview Hills, Ky., Dean F. Brown of San Diego, Calif., and E. Scott Brown of Littleton, Colo., as well as five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross. --- Lillie Mae Hopper: H160 Lillie Mae Hopper, 97, of Cashion died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Heart- land Health Care Center in Edmond. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Cashion Cemetery with Rev. Mike Ward officiating. She was born May 16, 1915, in Gainesville, Texas, to Macy and Allie Adair Foster. She married Emory Hopper in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1955. She worked as a cook in several Oklahoma City restaurants. After retire- ment, she moved to Cashion in 1982 where she was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Ronald of Cashion; one daughter, Nancy Sue Roukema of Caldwell, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. **************************************************************************** Sunday, June 23, 2002 Fred Langley: L524 (((Photo))) Fred Langley, 82, a longtime Kingfisher businessman, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital following a brief illness. A graveside service under direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home of Hen- nessey was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kingfisher Cemetery with Rev. Darryl Owen, pastor of the Kingfisher First United Methodist Church, officiating. He was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Arkadelphia, Ark., to Miles Fred and Sudie Woodall Langley. He married Patty Price in Abilene, Texas, on Nov. 22, 1941. He served in the 45th Infantry Division during WWII. Following the war, he attended mor- tuary school in St. Louis, Mo. Upon completing his education, he worked in Bartlesville for one year, in Amarillo, Texas, for four years, and then pur- chased the funeral home in Waynoka. In 1955, the couple purchased the funeral home in Kingfisher and owned and operated it for 18 years. Following his career as a funeral director, he was employed as a landman, buying and selling oil and gas leases. The couple also owned and operated Dad's and Lad's Clothing Store in Kingfisher. Survivors include his wife, Patty of the home; two sons, Larry L. Lang- ley and wife Barbara of Wagoner and Gary F. Langley and wife Theresa of Columbia, Mo.; one daughter, Koni Hembree of Oklahoma City; one brother, Ray Y. Langley and wife Thelma of Tulsa, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. --- George L. Gibson: G125 (((Photo))) George L. Gibson, 67, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Dover, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Arrangements are under direction of Smith and Kernke Funeral Directors of Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Guthrie to Herman and Marjorie Gibson. Survivors include three sons, Tony Gibson and James Gibson, both of Okla- homa City, and Terrance Gibson of Dover; one daughter, Sheri Gibson of Guthrie; one brother, Richard L. Gibson of Guthrie; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Hazell, one brother, Herman and one son, Tim. --- William Bent Fletcher: F432 William "Willie" Bent Fletcher, 83, of Geary died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Parkview Hospital in El Reno. A Wake service was held Friday at the Geary Tri-County Building followed with an all Wake at the home. Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the First Baptist Church in Geary with Rev. Max Malone officiat- ing. Burial will follow in the Geary Cemetery, under direction of Turner Funeral Home of Geary. He was born April 1, 1919, at Weatherford to John Fletcher and Naomi Buffalowoman Fletcher. He was married to Mildred Eva Rowlodge. She preceded him in death in April 1967. He attended school in Clinton and El Reno Junior College. He served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. He was wounded in the Battle of Saipan-Tinian, Marianas Islands, and Iwo Jima in the Volcano Islands. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Geary and El Reno American Legion, the VFW and served as a health board chairman. He was a Cheyenne ceremonial chief. Survivors include two sons, Dwight Fletcher and Wayne Fletcher, both of Geary; two stepdaughters, Kim Williams of Weatherford and Anna Williams of Colony; four adopted sons, Robert Wilson, Chester Whiteman, Gordon Yellow- man and Nathan Hart; one brother, John Fletcher Sr. of Geary; one sister, Opal Fletcher Hail of Yukon; two grandchildren, and three great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred, two sons, Richard Arnold and Robert Allen Fletcher and brothers and sisters. --- Esther C. Bailey: B400 Esther C. Bailey, 88, of Enid, mother of Kingfisher resident, Lois Hender- son, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at her home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 5, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Enid with Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial followed in the Enid Cemetery, under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home of Enid. She was born Aug. 25, 1913 in Breckinridge to Henry and Anna Stettnisch. She married Charles T. Bailey on April 8, 1936. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1988. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Enid for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and her hobby was playing cards. Survivors include two sons, Charles T. Bailey Jr. and wife Charlotte of Ranchester, Wyo., and Richard V. Bailey of Fritch, Texas; two daughters, Lois Henderson and husband Charles of Kingfisher and Kay Osborn and husband Bill of Norman; one brother, Vernon Stettnisch and wife Ina of Deer Park, Texas; 11 grandchldren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Erna, Alvina, Viola Schulz and Lorene Rippe, and one brother, Lawrence Stettnisch. --- Kevin Monroe Kusik: K220 Kevin Monroe Kusik, 47, of Laverne, formerly of Hennessey, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church at Laverne with Rev. Diana Northcutt officiating. Burial will be at the Laverne Memorial Cemetery under direction of Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. He was born Nov. 3, 1954, at Kingfisher to Lambert and Mary Elizabeth Payne Kusik. He was employed by Duke Energy Co. and was a former coach and teacher at Laverne and Putman City West. He attended Marshall and Hennessey schools, graduating from Hennessey High School in 1973. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva in 1978. He married Rita Hickmon on Dec. 22, 1980 at Kauai, Hawaii. He was active in the United Methodist Church, Laverne Booster Club and Laverne Music Booster Club. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sasha Kusik of Stillwater and Chelsi Kusik of the home in Laverne; his father, Lambert Kusik of Hennessey; three brothers, Jeff and wife Donna Kusik of Eaton, Colo., Bill and wife Nita Kusik of Kingfisher and Brad and wife Kerry Kusik of Kellyville; one sister, Julie and husband Ron Schaefer of Tahlequah. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, James and Ethel Payne and Anton Sr. and Marie Kusik. --- Arthur R. Jones: J520 Arthur R. Jones, 89, of Crescent died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, in Edmond. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Abernathy Funeral Chapel in Crescent with Rev. Gerald Biswell officiating. Burial followed in Oak- land-Knowles Cemetery, under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home of Crescent. He was born Dec. 24, 1912, in Crescent to Harley W. and Della Channel Jones. He married Ella Miller on July 4, 1935. He was retired from Tinker AFB and was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent. Survivors include his wife, Ella of the home; two sons, Frank Jones Sr. of Arcadia and Garry L. Jones of Crescent; eight grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Charles A. Jones. --- Elvena May Helt: H430 Elvena May Helt, 80, of Kingfisher died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2002, at King- fisher Cemetery, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service. She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Kingfisher to Harry and Emma (Stolz) Thom- sen on a farm northwest of Kingfisher, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Busy Bee Club, Kingfisher County Farm Bureau, and past member of the KEWA's. She is survived by children: Gary and Kayleen, Lary and Diana, sister, Elaine and husband Vernon Mueggenborg; grandchildren; Tena and Steve Svo- boda, Tary and Charlotte, Eric and LeAnn, Jaime and Laine Helt, and five great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Memory Lane. **************************************************************************** Wednesday, June 26, 2002 Eugene "Gene" Harris: H620 Eugene (Gene) Harris, 66, of Kingfisher passed away June 24, 2002 after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. Gene was born January 16, 1936 to Oval Clyde and Ida Marie Harris in Thomas, Oklahoma. Gene attended Enid, Oklahoma, Public Schools and graduat- ed from Salem High School in Salem, Oregon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingfisher. Services will be held Thursday June 27, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. in the Kingfisher Cemetery followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Kingfisher at 11 a.m. Viewing will be available only at Sanders Funeral Home, Kingfisher. Gene married Betty Jean Fagg in Salem, Ore., on September 14, 1956. Prior to moving back to Oklahoma, he served in the Air National Guard in Portland, Ore., and worked for the state of Oregon. In 1969, the family re- located to Kingfisher where he farmed for many years in addition to working for the state of Oklahoma in the Departments of Human Services and Office of Personnel Management. Survivors include his wife Betty, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Robert Dambold of Edmond, brother William C. Harris and his wife Georgia of Guthrie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Donald W. Harris. Gene was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that have known him. He will always be remembered for his smile and his humor. He was an example to all he met through his strength and courage during his battle with cancer. H. Barrackman: B625 Dave Harve "D.H." Barrackman II, 87, of Morro Bay, Calif., the brother of Mike Barrackman and Geraldine Fann of Kingfisher, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at a Morro Bay care facility. Graveside service was held Friday, June 21, at Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Barrackman was born to Nellie and Harve Barrackman March 4, 1915, in King- fisher where he attended grammar and high school. He married Martha in Miami on July 31, 1937. They moved to San Fernando, Calif., in 1945 and to Arroyo Grande, Calif., in 1959. He was a carpenter and general building contractor for 62 years. At age 65 he learned to fly and did so until he was 76. He was a member of the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in Pismo Beach. Survivors include five children, Martha Ann Day of Oceano, Calif., Jackie June Stricklin of Arroyo Grande, Calif., David Harve Barrackman III and wife Sharon of Quartz Hill, Calif., Charles Richard Barrackman and wife Jeannie of Santa Maria, Calif., and Stephan Gould Barrackman of Oceano; his brother and sister of Kingfisher; seven granddaughters; five grandsons, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Blanche Barrackman, in 1985, and daughter Jimmie Lou Barrackman in 1991.
