Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Kingfisher with the Rev. Derrick Lynch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery. She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Tillman County. She had lived in the Loyal and Kingfisher areas most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Larry Geis of Garland, Texas; one sister, Lucille Corbett of Wichita, Kan., and one brother, Floyd Hawkins of Loyal. ********************************************************************************* Wednesday, August 7, 2002 Donald C. Hirschler: H624 Jan. 30, 1939-Aug. 3, 2002 Donald was a loving husband, father and friend. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Vondel Smith & Son's North Colonial Chapel with interment at Kingfisher Cemetery. He married Carol Burnett on July 26, 1968, and had a lasting relationship for 34 years. He was employed by Reserve National Insurance Company and enjoyed numerous hobbies and activities. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hirschler; four sons, David Hirschler and wife Gwen, Eddie Hirschler, Kevin Hirschler and wife Debi, and Jay Hirschler and wife Jamai; grandchildren, Chris Heikes, Valorie Dawn Neumeyer and husband Scott, Rachel Heikes, Brandon Byers, Scott Hirschler, Aaron Butler, Jeff Hirschler, Brenna Butler, Blayklee Buchanan Hirschler, Tylor Buchanan Hirschler, Jaykob Don Hirschler, Lauran Bermel and Matthew Bermel; great-grandson, Kade Warner and numerous other relatives and friends. He married Madeline "Mattie" Christy July 22, 1972, in Howell, Mich. He had lived in Oklahoma, Michigan and Indiana. At time of death he was plant manager at AL-KO Kober Corp. in Elkhart where he had served 13 years. He was an avid gardener. Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Dale of Plymouth, Mich., Doug of Grand Rapids, Mich., J. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church with Revs. Stephen Bird, Dan Mueggenborg, Phil Donohoe and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, under dir- ection of Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno. He was born Sept. 14, 1955, in Okarche. He married Joan Marie Rother on July 30, 1977. Burial followed in the Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet, under direction of Wilson Funeral Home. She was born Jan. 26, 1936, to George and Catherine Heupel in Okarche. She was a graduate of Okarche High School. She was a resident of Calumet since 1985 and was employed in the cafeteria at Calumet Public Schools. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Abernathy Funeral Chapel in Crescent with Rev. Roger Pitt officiating. Burial followed in the Crescent Cemetery, under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Wellington, Kan., to Everett and Nellie A. Summers Williamson. She married Leo Wilbur Stanfill on March 4, 1939, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1986. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Methodist Church of Crescent and Methodist Church choir and Double Trio. She played piano in earlier years and sang for the Double Trio. Survivors include one son, Aaron Stanfill of Yukon; one daughter, Carolyn Stan- fill of Red River, N.M.; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grand- children, and one step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo, and one sister, Vivian Barbour. ********************************************************************************* Sunday, August 18, 2002 Walter Earl Harrison: H625 Mr. Walter Earl Harrison, 90, of Kingfisher died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darryl Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingfisher Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Service. He was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Kingfisher to Earl and Amelia (Kremke) Harrison. He was raised on the farm and remained on the farm most of his life. He attended Burson Country School, District 62 S.W. of Kingfisher. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He is survived by two sons, Norman and his wife Shirley Harrison and Melvin Harrison, both of Kingfisher; one daughter, Kayleen and husband Gary Helt of Kingfisher, grandchildren, Kevan and wife Lourdes Harrison, Kellie and husband Mike Chapman, Mark and wife Laynette Harrison, Sheila and husband Pat Leudders, Tena and husband Steve Svoboda, and Tary and wife Charlotte Helt, and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter and one brother. Memorials can be sent to Memory Lane Association, Russell Murray Hospice, El Reno, OK 73036, or the First United Methodist Church. --- Isaac Meier: M600 Funeral services for Isaac Meier, 94, of Hitchcock were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Okeene. Ryan Neill and Scott Baker, pastors, officiated followed by burial in Roselawn Cemetery. He was born Oct. 11, 1907, to Jake and Kathrine Miller Meier and died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002. He attended Hitchcock High School, a boarding school in Clinton, Mo., a Seventh-Day Adventist School, and Southwestern Junior College at Keene, Texas. He married Alice Brickman. She died Oct. 14, 1992. He moved to Oregon in 1993, then returned to Oklahoma to the farm. He later moved to Harrah and Weatherford before miving to the home of Martha Smith. He had helped build the Okeene Seventh-day Adventist Church, the church school and the Weatherford Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include one son, Jerry of Weatherford; one daughter, Yvonne Dickerson of Clarkston, Wash.; one sister, Elberta Swaim of Okeene; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother. --- Juanita F. Smith: S530 Juanita F. Parvin Smith, 67, of Port Aransas, Texas, a native of this area, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders chapel in Kingfisher followed by burial in the Parvin Cemetery, northwest of Loyal. She was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Okeene to Mary and Leonard Parvin. She married Wendell T. Smith. She worked in nursing homes in Friendship and Hopewell, Va. Survivors include her husband of the home in Port Aransas; a daughter, Debra Wolf of Nashotah, Wis.; a son, Larry Smith of Three Rivers, Texas; two brothers, LD Parvin of Watonga and Ray Parvin of Hitchcock; two sisters, Edith Young of Watonga and Edna Wight of Enid, and four grandchildren. Yost: Y230 (((Photo))) Herbert H. Yost, 75, of Kingfisher passed away on Aug. 16, 2002, at Mercy Health Center. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Kingfisher Cemetery with Rev. Leon Seaton officiating, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Herb was born June 21, 1927, in Kingfisher to Henry and Cora Bredel Yost. He attended Alpha and graduated from Omega High School in 1945. He was a member of the Federated Church, served on the board of directors of the Soil Conservation Office and was a member of the Kingfisher Cattleman's Association. He married Lois R. Kottwitz on Dec. 3, 1950, in Kingfisher. The couple lived west of Kingfisher since 1954. He was active in farming and ranching all of his life. Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; two sons, Max Yost and wife Beverly and Mike Yost and wife Diane, all of Kingfisher; two daughters, Linda Shelby and husband Irvin of Sulphur and Patt D. Sandefur and husband Jerry of Kingfisher; 10 grandchildren, Mandy, Amy and Angie Shelby, Stephanie Yost, Amanda, Sheri and Jared Yost, and Katie, Kara and Kortny Sandefur; one sister, Florine Jindra of Kingfisher; one sister-in-law, Myrl Yost of Kingfisher; two brothers- in-law, Monroe Kottwitz and Clyde Corbin, both of Kingfisher, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cora, three brothers, Lawrence, Allen and Ervan Yost, and one sister, Agnes Fisher. A memorial service was held Monday at South Haven Christian Church with Rev. Raymond Stapleton officiating. Burial was under direction of Elliott-Schaeffer Mortuary. She was born May 7, 1934, at Dover to Charlie Grape and Sarah Hipple. She married Kenith Mathews on Nov. 25, 1951, at Kingfisher. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Audie Mathews of South Haven and Steve Greer of Haysville; four brothers, Grover Grape of Dover, Gene Grape of Kingfisher, Harlon Grape of Azle, Texas; two sisters, Mary Adams of Kingfisher and Georgie McVey of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. --- April Lott Barber: B616 April Lott Barber, 27, of Thomasville, Ga., formerly of Hennessey, died Satur- day, Aug. 17, 2002, near St. Augustine, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Don Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Hennessey Cemetery, under direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home of Hennessey. She was born April 21, 1975, in Kingfisher to Donald and Nancy Shaw Lott. She was a 1993 graduate of Hennessey High School, serving as salutatorian of her class. She married Justin Barber on Aug. 4, 1999. She attended Oklahoma State University for 3 1/2 years before transferring to OU Health and Allied Sciences, where she earned a degree in radiology in 1999. She was an Academic All-Stater and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was employed at Singletary Oncology Center Dosimetry Department in Thomas- ville at the time of her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hennessey. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Davis Funeral Chapel in Guthrie with Rev. Berry Farnsworth officiating. Burial followed in Gracelawn Cem- etery in Edmond, under direction of Davis Funeral Home of Guthrie. He was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Wellston to Harry and Lorene Clark Butler. He moved to Kingfisher from Oklahoma City in 1983. He was employed at Farrar Construction Company as a mechanic and attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother; three sons, Ronnie Butler of McLoud, Terry Butler and wife Deanna of Jones and Anthony Butler of Lawton; one stepdaughter, Sandra Sharp of Oklahoma City; one brother, Lee Butler and wife Jane of Edmond; five sisters, Ruth Brown and husband Chris, Louise Ross and husband Jerry and Carolyn Farrar and husband John, all of Kingfisher; Imogene Hodson of Edmond, and Shirley Atchley of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in the Kingfisher Cemetery with Rev. Leon Seaton officiating. She was born June 19, 1908, in Matson, Mo., to Herman and Emma (Telgemeier) Schaechter. She married Thomas Francis on Aug. 19, 1929, in Oklahoma City. She came to the Kingfisher area with her parents at the age of two. She attended Kingfisher High School and graduated in 1926. She worked as a library assistant for 16 years at the Kingfisher Library. Gladys was a life-time member of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Federated Church. She is survived by her son, Wayne and Daughter-in-law Suzie Francis of Piedmont. Also, surviving is her grandson, Clay Francis of Piedmont. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters. Memorials may be made to the First Shamrock Nursing Center, 1415 S. Main Street, Kingfisher, OK 73750. --- Benjamin Lee Crist, Jr.: C623 Benjamin Lee Crist Jr., of Okarche died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at his home. A Wake will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Max Schwarz, deacon, presiding. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in El Reno Cemetery. He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Mary Neal, Texas, to Benjamin Lee Sr. and Martha Kathleen Kent Crist. He married Ruth Uldyne Patrick on Jan. 21, 1949, in Phoenix, Ariz. He served 22 years in the Army with the Green Beret. After retirement, he was employed with the United States Postal Service for 10 years. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the home; one daughter, Nancy Walters of Calumet; two sisters, Lillian Gill and Margaret Stone, both of Arizona; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and one grandson. --- Marshall Dwain Ellington: E452 Marshall Dwain "Duke" Ellington, 62 of Tahlequah, formerly of Kingfisher, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Chapel in Sayre with Lloyd Unsell officiating. Burial followed in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, under direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. He was born June 24, 1940, in Magazine, Ark., to Ben and Selma Ellington. He married Dorothy Wilson on Jan. 22, 1962, in Sayre. He attended Sayre High School. He graduated from Sayre Junior College in 1961, with an associates degree. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He was a resident of Kingfisher, moving to Enid in 1995. He was in the cable business for 40 years and spent the last three years in the small TV satellite business. He and his wife resided in Tahlequah for the last three years. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; two daughters, Karla Dianne Ellington of Boston, Mass., and Kim Ritchie and husband Tom of Enid; four brothers, Clem Ellington and wife Doris of Ft. Smith, Ark., Aldon Ellington and wife Irene of Lomita, Calif., Doyal Ellington and wife Erna of Stockton, Calif., and Bill Ellington of Royce City, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Montgomery of Tulsa, Johnnie May Aebi and husband Charles of Enid and Emma Sharp of Houston, Texas, and three grandchildren.
