Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Stinson officiating. He was born June 17, 1917, in Kingfisher County. He married Helen West on Feb. 10, 1940, in Kingfisher. He graduated from Big 4 School in 1939, and resided at Big 4 until 1983, when he and Adaline Rogers were married on Jan. 6. He was a farmer, dirt contractor and businessman. Survivors include his wife, Adaline; two sons, Jim and his wife Lisa and Jerry and his wife Nancy, and four granddaughters, Christin, Kerri, Allison and Ashley, all of Kingfisher. --- Shirley Fougere: F260 (((Photo))) Shirley Fougere, 65, of Bellows Falls, Vt., mother of Kingfisher residents, B.J. Barrett, Paul Fougere and Shawn Barrett, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at the Grace Cottage Hospital in Bellows Falls. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls. She was born Jan. 2, 1937, to Horace and Vera Jones Hammond in East Jamaica, Vt. She attended schools in Vermont and Maine. She was employed in Brattleboro, Vt., for Lou's Taxi and in Hindsdale, N.H., for Bridgeport Metals, but she spent most of her working life as a cook for various restaurants. Survivors include five sons, Robert "B.J." Barrett, Paul Fougere and Shawn Barrett, all of Kingfisher, Raymond Barrett of Rogers, Ark., and David Fougere of Bellows Falls; three daughters, Sandy Bridges of Farmington, N.H., and Diana Spaulding and Karen Thomas of Bellows Falls; one sister, Barbara Bernal of Clare- mont, N.H.; 20 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. --- Thelma Van Horn: H650 Thelma Van Horn, 90, of Kingfisher died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at St. Ann's Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held Friday at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ron Bruner officiating. Burial followed in Kingfisher Cemetery. She was born April 12, 1912, in Kingfisher to Joel and Orpha Barnard Weaver. She married George W. Van Horn on June 12, 1934, in Kingfisher. She attended Central State Teachers College and taught at Park School. She and her husband farmed for about 50 years. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Weaver of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Martin and Verlena Shelby, both of Kingfisher; one brother, Ken Weaver of Oregon; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. --- Marvin Glazier: G426 Marvin Glazier, 84, lifelong resident of Loyal, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday in Loyal Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Barr officiating. Burial followed in Forest Home Cemetery at Loyal. He was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Loyal to Earl and Delpha Page Glazier. He married Eileen Garms on June 27, 1938, in Enid. He was a dairyman, stockman and farmer. He served on the Loyal School Board and helped to begin the first agricultural education (FFA) program at Loyal School. He was an honorary FFA chapter member, a member of Oklahoma Division of Associated Milk Producers Association Board of Directors, board of directors of Kingfisher Bank and Trust and served on Kingfisher Community Hospital board of directors. He was a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church, Kingfisher Men's Garden Club, Lomega Lions Club and served on the Forest Home Cemetery Board, Lomega Education Academic Fund (LEAF) organization and was a recipient of the 1998 Okla- homa Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year Award. Survivors include his wife, Eileen of the home; two sons, Tom and Stacy, both of Loyal; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grand- children. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. She was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Dover to Edd and Bertha Smith Mayes. She married Weldon B. Tatom in 1945 in El Reno. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dover and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were sewing, reading and sports. Survivors include one son, Douglas Tatom and wife Tina of Oak Harbor, Wash.; three daughters, Sharon Flanagan and husband Dan and Debra Tatom, all of Post Falls, and Marilee Tatom of Houston, Texas; one brother, Donnie Mayes of Kingfisher; two sisters, Vera Bean of Athens, Ohio, and Neva Varner of Tulsa; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Gramlich: G654 (((Photo))) Nick D. Gramlich, 87, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Kingfisher, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002. Funeral services were held Friday at Guardian West Chapel. Burial followed at Rose Hill Burial Park, under direction of Guardian West Funeral Home. He was born July 17, 1915, in Kingfisher to Nicholas F. and Emma A. Gramlich. He was a graduate of Kingfisher High School and attended Oklahoma A&M. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during WWII. He was employed by and associated with C.B. and Gene Warr for 43 years. He was one of the original owners of the Mayfair Shopping Center. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a former member of the American Business Club, American Legion, Mayfair Kiwanis Club and chamber of commerce. Survivors include his wife, Hazel of the home; one daughter, Frances Rosier and husband Bruce, and two grandsons. She was born June 17, 1936, in Oklahoma to Thomas and Zadie Smith James. She moved to Missouri with her parents and married Oliver Dennis in Kansas City, Mo. They divorced. She married Raymond Withrow. They moved to Kingfisher. Survivors include her mother; two sons, James Dennis of Independence, Mo., and John Dennis of Platt City, Mo.; one brother, Elyjah Lee James of Luther; one sister, Alma Justice of Perry; one stepsister, Dolly; one half sister, Lela Dell Garrett of El Reno; four half brothers, Frank Kincade of Luther, Elmer Kincade of Perry, Eddie Lou Davis of Oklahoma City and Jack Davis of Texas, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, one half brother and three sisters. --- J. Ross Jones: J520 J. Ross Jones, 80, of Kingfisher died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday in Kingfisher with Pastor Bob Shafer officiating. He was born March 7, 1922, in Comanche to Garland and Emma Ross Jones. He married Jaunita Skeeter Frazier on Nov. 3, 1955, in Enid. He served in the Air Force at the end of WWII. He was employed with Superior Oil Co., working on a drilling rig. He also worked as an agent with Security Life Insurance Co. and owned and operated Kingfisher Recreation Parlor. For 17 years, he operated the Apco Station and Cafe and worked for Farmers Co-op Supply, retiring in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Jones of Kingfisher and Cindy Hammons of Rogers, Ark.; two sons, J. Ross Jr. of DeRidder, La., and Mickey of Kingfisher; one sister, Frankie Kale of Pueblo, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and four sisters. --- Dennis H. Meyer: M600 Dennis H. Meyer, 60, of Kingfisher died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Baptist Medical City in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Faith and Vision Pente- costal Church in Kingfisher with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Meyer was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Clarence and Katherine Ditt- berner Meyer. He grew up in Okarche and had lived in Kingfisher the past seven years. He served with the 45th Division of Oklahoma National Guard. He married Judy Wright Jan. 5, 1996, in Kingfisher. Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; three sons, Jeffery, Rick and Travis; two daughters, Lisa Marie and Valerie; stepchildren, Jimmy, Cherokee, Kay, Elizabeth and Jessica; one brother, Dr. Paul Meyer of Orange County, Calif.; two sisters, Arlene Meyer Mosley of Ontario, Can., and Ruth Meyer Mittelstaedt of El Reno. He was preceded in death by his parents. --- Muriel Faye Dean: D500 Word has been received of the death of Muriel Faye Dean, 71, of Bakersfield, Calif., a Kingfisher native, on Aug. 22, 2002. Funeral services were held at Hillcrest Hall of Valor on Monday, Aug. 26. She was born on June 26, 1931, to Henry and Birdie Waller in Kingfisher. She spent her elementary school years in Kingfisher, Maunie, Ill., and Comanche. She returned to Kingfisher with her family in the mid-1940s and finished her education, graduating in 1949. She and Garold A. Dean were married on Aug. 30, 1950. They had been married 51 years and 51 weeks at the time of her death. They became the parents of three daughters while Garold was serving in the U.S. Air Force between 1952 and 1962. In 1962 the family moved to the Bakersfield area where they had resided since. Muriel was a housewife and stay-at-home mother who sewed for her three daughters, and was an avid bowler, volunteering many hours with the children's bowling league. In 1979, she developed a health problem which was diagnosed as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The generating disease continued for 23 years. Survivors include her husband, Garold of the home; daughters, Kathy and husband Scott Pelham, Cynthia and husband Kurt Geyer, all of Bakersfield, and Janice and husband Robert Bench of Alaska; three brothers, Dale Waller and wife Virginia of Oklahoma, Clyde Waller and wife Nancy of New Mexico and Jerry Waller and wife Georgina of California; one sister, Meg and husband Eldon Folks of Oklahoma, and seven grandchldren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother, L.D. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery, east of Loyal, under direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home of Hennessey. He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Hennessey to Merle and Myrtle Haymaker Frakes. He married Alma Collier on Sept. 26, 1949, in Kingfisher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a past member of the Hennessey Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Alma; three daughters, Saundra Nance of Tecumseh, Rhonda Macy and husband Stephen of Loyal, and Terri Applegate and husband Bob of Yukon; one son, Larry Frakes and wife Tamra of Bison; one sister, Nadine Powers and husband Edward of Hennessey; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. --- William David Orr: O600 William David "Dave" Orr, 81, of Marshall died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Abernathy Funeral Chapel in Crescent. Burial will follow in South Marshall Lions Cemetery, under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home. He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Slick to Charles Eugene and Gertrude Woods Orr. He married Emma Lewis on July 18, 1941, in Earlsboro. He was reared in Earlsboro and moved to Marshall in 1967. He was employed for Conoco for 31 plus years. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. His hobbies were Harley Davidson motorcycles, boat racing and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Emma of the home; one son, William David Orr Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Texas; two daughters, Kay Loraine Smith of Stillwater and Mary Kathryn Fuxa of Marshall; one sister, Jessie Lee Delao of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Leland Goff, one sister, Flora Mae Sliger and one grandson. --- Connie Lucille Cornish: C652 Connie Lucille Cornish, 53, of Cashion died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, in Okla- homa City. She was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Crescent to Eddie and Margaret Martin Travis. She married Ralph Cornish on June 16, 1967, in Oklahoma City. She was a beauty operator until 1980, and then became a housewife. Marvin Goodpasture officiating. She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Hennessey to William and Hazel Kemp Rapp. She married Edward Prochaska on July 15, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1985. She attended school in the Hennessey area. She and her husband lived in Enid for a few years, moved to Carrier, where they farmed until the early 1970s, then moved to Kremlin. She cleaned houses and was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, David of Wichita, Kan., and Larry of Enid; one daughter, Karen Davie of Enid; one sister, Fern Easton of Edmond; eight grand- children, and three great-grandchildren. --- Laura Ann Swart: S630 Laura Ann Swart, 36, of Edmond, daughter-in-law of Kingfisher residents, Robert and Barbara Swart, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Dan Sisler: S246 Rev. Dan Sisler, 65, of Granbury, Texas, father of Kingfisher resident Joyce Brown, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services were held Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Granbury, under direction of Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. He was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Greer, W. Va. He married Dottie Evans on Dec. 22, 1956, in Frostburg, Md. He served as pastor of the Oak Street Baptist Church in Kingfisher for 14 years and also served as chaplain of the Kingfisher Police Department. He was pastor of the First Baptist Church in Rhinelander, Wis., for eight years and worked with St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. He also served the First Baptist Church in Three Rivers, Mich. In retirement, he continued his ministry by holding services in the Granbury nursing homes and leading bible studies. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Granbury, the ministerial alliance and a former member of the Masons and the Lions Club. His hobbies were flowers, gardening, reading and collecting rocks. He was an avid fan of Louis Lamour and the Green Bay Packers. A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Arlington Memory Gardens. She was born March 31, 1930, in Shidler to Everett and Gertrude Meyer Cleveland. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1948. She was employed by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission for nine years and worked for the remainder of her career in retail sales. She retired from Whitehall Jewelers in 1997. Survivors include her husband, Brian McAllister; three sons, Stephen Arthurs and wife Marilyn and Roger Arthurs, all of Kingfisher, and Mike Arthurs, of Pawnee; one daughter, Debi Sanders and husband Mike of Pawnee; two brothers, George Cleve- land and wife Karldene of Stillwater and Tom Cleveland and wife Loretta of Edmond; 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. --- Stephanie June Ogle: O240 (((Photo))) Stephanie June Ogle, 46, of Yukon, formerly of Kingfisher, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church in Yukon. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Kingfisher Cemetery, under direction of Yanda and Son Funeral Home of Yukon. She was born June 16, 1956, in Kingfisher to Harold "Pete" and Velda Ogle. She married Carl Childers on March 7, 1975. She graduated from Yukon Public Schools in 1974 and attended Redlands Community College. She was employed as a technology production specialist. She was a member of Pioneers of America through Lucent Technologies, the Order of Rainbows and the Yukon Dimensional Embroidery Club. Survivors include two sons, Joshua Ogle and Christopher Ogle; her mother, and two sisters, Dawnell Hudson and husband Arlie and Joanne Carel and husband Frank. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. --- Doris Gooding Lawler: L460 Doris Gooding Lawler, 64, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Kingfisher, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. Survivors include two sons, Randy Reischman of Wichita and Mark Reischman of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Geneva England of Wichita; two grandsons, and three great-grandsons. ********************************************************************************** Wednesday, September 18, 2002 Eugene "Gene" Garrett: G630 Eugene "Gene" Garrett, 78, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, in Kingfisher. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Kingfisher with Rev. Don Gibson officiating. Gene was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Kingfisher, Okla. to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Garrett. After graduation from Kingfisher High School, Gene attended Oklahoma A and M College until enlisting in the Air Force. Gene served with the 5th Air Force in the South Pacific as a B-24 pilot and in Japan as a C-46 pilot. Gene and Ruth Ann Foster were married on Nov. 3, 1946, and have three children: Tom Garrett of Kingfisher, Jack Garrett of Gainsville, Texas, and Jeanne Ann Cross of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Greg Garrett of Kingfisher, Lori Burns of Kingfisher, Nathan Garrett of Gainesville, Texas, and Johathan Garrett of Gaines- ville, Texas; four great-grandchildren, and one brother, Marvin Garrett of King- fisher. Gene and Ruth Ann farmed east of Kingfisher and he also retired from Pioneer Telephone Cooperative. Gene was a member of the First Christian Church of Kingfisher, The American Legion and The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Christian Church. Burial followed in Oakview Cemetery, under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home of Crescent. He was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Lovell to Perry L. and Ida Sade Jones. He married Nadine Rohrer on Feb. 2, 1948, in Wellington, Kan. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the VFW. He was employed for the Rock Island Railroad as a depot agent. Survivors include his wife, Nadine of the home; one daughter, Renee Boucherie of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Twyla Hall of Crescent, Thelma Travis and Doris Martin, both of Oklahoma City, and Ruth Seefeldt of Crescent, and two grandchildren. He was pjreceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sondra Fay Chamberlain, three brothers, Melvin Raymond and Marvin Jones, and one sister, Ada Gallaway. --- Patricia V. Western: W236 Patricia Vaughn "Pat" Western, 57, of Kingfisher, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at her home in Kingfisher. Funeral services were scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Assembly of God Church in Kingfisher with pastors Ron Bruner and James Crawford officiating, followed by burial in Kingfisher Cemetery. She was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Mangum to Samuel and Alva Olive Vaughn. She had lived in Kingfisher the past 35 years where she attended First Assembly of God Church, was a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Kingfisher Regional Hospital for 22 years. She and Charles "Chuck" Western were married Oct. 7, 2000, in Harrison, Ark. Survivors include her husband of the home; five sons, Lavern Mowdy and Randy Mowdy, both of Kingfisher, Bo Mowdy of Oklahoma City, Charles and Norman, both of Tennessee; three daughters, Donna Hancock of Kingfisher, Shannon Varner and Linda McLearn, both of El Reno, and grandchildren. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial was set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Marvin Leven and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno. He was born Oct. 21, 1926, to Albert J. and Gertrude Osterholt Mueggenborg in Okarche. He married Madlyn Ann Krittenbrink on Nov. 25, 1947. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1991. He was employed at the Okarche Coop as a mechanic until retirement. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and the VFW. Survivors include two sons, Robert F. Mueggenborg and wife Kay and Patrick J. Mueggenborg and wife Kathy, all of Okarche; two daughters, Lena M. Mueggenborg and Joyce A. Mueggenborg, both of the home; one sister, Marcella Eischen of Okarche; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Stewart: S363 (((Photo))) Bobby G. Stewart, 73, of Douglass, Kan., who was reared in Kingfisher, died on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, it was reported by local family members. Funeral services with full military rites were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Douglass First Baptist Church. Stewart was a retired welder and lead man at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. He was the son of the late Charles Marvin and Ernestine Stewart of Kingfisher. He joined the Air Force in World War II and later was assigned to the Army. He also served a tour of duty in Korea in the U.S. Marine Corps. He and his wife were married after his honorable discharge from military service, moving to Kansas shortly after their marriage. Survivors include his wife, Wreatha; two daughters, Alicia Dian McKay of Wichita and Leah Teresa Schouten of Douglass; four brothers, Charles Marvin of Altus, Buster D. of Redding, Calif., Jerry Dale and Larry Gale, both of Kingfisher; a sister, Dixie Louise Charles of Tahlequah; five grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert of California and Buddy of Kingfisher. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie. Burial followed in the church cemetery, under direction of Loftiss Funeral Home of Cordell. She was born June 28, 1927, in Harrold, Texas, to Albert and Hulda Schoppa. She married Otto Bredy on Sept. 25, 1949, in Harrold. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1994. She was employed as a supervisor at Cordell Christian Home until retirement and a member of the Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Smith and husband Chris of Kingfisher; two sons, Don Bredy and wife Brenda of Kingfisher and Stan Bredy and wife Polly of Gotebo; one brother, Albert Schoppa Jr. and wife Sallee of Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Buchhorn and husband Melvin of Georgetown, Texas, and Jenice Schoppa of Vernon, Texas, and seven grandchildren. Schieber Jameson: J525 (((Photo))) Wilma M. (Schieber) Jameson was born Dec. 27, 1927, to John H. and Lillian (Constien) Schieber, south of Okarche, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in El Reno with Rev. James Inman and Rev. John Chennault officiating. Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery, under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home of Geary. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at the Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie, Okla., at the age of 74. Wilma graduated from Okarche High School, and worked at the El Reno Chamber of Commerce for a short time. She was united in marriage to Lee Roy Jameson July 23, 1948, at Bethany, Okla. They have lived northwest of Calumet all their married lives. They began a dairy operation with a rented barn and three cows, and later bought 160 acres and started their farming operation. They built a dairy barn in 1950, began enlarging their dairy herd, and expanded their farming operation and their family during those years. She was a full participant in the family dairy and farming operations, serving as secretary for Associated District Milk Producers Auxiliary. She and Lee Roy quit dairying in 1980, but have continued their farming opera- tion, producing certified and registered seed crops and an Angus cow-calf lives- tock herd. In 1982, they were named Canadian County's "Farm Family of the Year." She was confirmed in the spring of 1941 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in El Reno, Okla., and attended the First Baptist Church in Okarche. She was an avid sports fan of the children's and grandchildren's sports activities. Wilma was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Jameson of the home in Calumet; four children, Peggy Kates and husband Ben of Cashion, Donna Eisenhour and husband Charles of El Reno, Don Jameson and wife Debra of Oklahoma City, and Janice Garlett and husband Grayson of Calumet; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Tim, Kevin and Rebecca Kates, Sonya and Daniel Eisenhour, Kelsey and Julie Jameson and Seth and Erin Garlett; three sisters, Ellen and Forrest Yates, Irene and Arthur Wiedemann, and Shirley and Johnnie Wiedemann, all of El Reno, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Schieber, and one sister, Betty Smith. He was a long-time employee of Sandusky Chevrolet as a parts manager and was employed by the Chevrolet dearler in Huntington Beach. Survivors include his wife, Edna; one sister, Nora; one grandchild and five great-grandchildren.
