All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== The Kingfisher Times & Free Press, Kingfisher, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 30, 2002 Virgil Dean Richards Virgil Dean Richards, 61, of Crescent died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Guthrie. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Crescent with Revs. Dale Drain and Gerald Biswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cashion Cemetery, under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home of Crescent. He was born March 30, 1940, in Crescent to Frank and Ruth Marie Havenstrite Richards. He married Ellen Kordis Gillett on Sept. 23, 1983. Survivors include his wife, Ellen of the home; one son, Michael Dean Richards and wife Kerri of Crescent; three daughters, Kimberlyn Anderson and Julie Ann Richards, both of Oklahoma City, and Danielle Dene Richards of Edmond; three step-daughters, Cheryl Farmer of Nashville, Tenn., Susie Davis and husband Leslie of Muskogee and Patty Wiggs and husband Raymond of Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother, Jimmy Richards of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Joy Hamburger of Oklahoma City, Jean Stewart of Temple, Texas, and Gaye Johnson of Crescent; his father-in-law, Allen Kordis of Kingfisher; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepson, James Gillett, one brother, Ralph Lee Richards, one sister, Mary Leone Ransford, and his mother-in-law, Bessie Kordis.
