Stange Fern L. Stange, 82, long-time resident of Kingfisher, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Kingfisher. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher with Father Richard Stansbury officiating, followed by burial in Kingfisher Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Service. She was born March 31, 1919, in Conway, Mo., to Sam and Amanda Smith. She graduated from Bristow High School. She and Max Harold Stange Sr. were married at Bristow on Dec. 25, 1938. They moved to Kingfisher in 1950. Here Mrs. Stange worked as a legal secretary for John Ruth and Jim Beall. She later worked at Peoples National Bank in the trust and C.D. departments. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kingfisher. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gerald Borelli; three grandsons, Scott and Janet Borelli and their son Sean, Greg and Vaynna Borelli and their three sons, Grant, Trey and Tyler, and Christoper Borelli, all of Kingfisher; two nieces, one nephew and one sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977 and one son, Max Harold Stange Jr. in 1974, a grandson, Steven Borelli in 1962 and one brother, Bill Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kingfisher Regional Hospital or Russell Murray Hospice.
