Truel James F. Truel, 87, of Oklahoma City, formerly of the Kingfisher area, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Northwest Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. A graveside service was set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday, in the Kingfisher Cemetery, with Rev. Kirk Norman officiating. He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Kingfisher to Frank and Irene Stevens Vaughn Truel. He moved to Washington, D.C., in 1938. He married Edith Semple on Jan. 1, 1941, in Washington, D.C. He returned to Oklahoma City in 1942 and was employed at Tinker AFB for 30 years. He moved to Kingfisher in 1961. Survivors include four sons, Curtis Truel and wife Ann and Michael Truel, all of Oklahoma City, Barry Truel of Fairfax, Va., and Patrick Truel and wife Linda of Moore; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Edith.
