All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Eagle Point National Cemetery--Eagle Point OR Anna Maxine (Perdue) Turra Anna Maxine (Perdue) Turra passed away on January 5, 2007 at Katherine's Cottage in Eagle Point. She had lived in the Rogue Valley for 68 years. Maxine was born on March 3, 1918 in Kingfisher, Okla. to T.C. and Edith Slack. She graduated from Kingfisher High School in May of 1936. In January of 1938 she married Herbert T. Perdue. In 1939 they moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. and in 1953 they moved to Eagle Point, Ore. On March 6, 1970 she married Raymond A. Turra. Along with being a mother and homemaker for much of her life, Maxine worked for the V.A. Domiciliary in White City for 17 years. She retired in 1982 and continued pursuing her life's love of sewing, crafts and gardening. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church in White City and loved the Lord deeply. Sons, Charles Perdue and wife, Carmen of Butte Falls, Ore., Thomas Perdue and wife, Nancy of Phoenix, Ore.; one daughter, Peggy Webster and husband, Gary of Ft. Mojave, Ariz.; and one brother, Kenneth Slack and his wife, Peggy of Enid, Okla. survive her. 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive her. Her husband, Raymond Turra and son, Jerry Perdue, preceded her in death. A private family memorial is planned this spring at the .
