ELLA MAE WEBER LUVERNE -- Ella Mae Weber was born on Dec. 24, 1910, at Kingfisher, Okla., to Alphonso and Lulu Richards Jordan. She attended country school near Irvington, and finished her schooling at the high school in Algona. After her schooling, Ella helped her parents on the farm and also worked at Bloom's Department Store in Algona. Ella was married to Alvin L. Weber on Jan. 20, 1931, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Irvington and LuVerne area, moving into LuVerne in 1966. Ella was an active member of the LuVerne United Meth-odist Church, where she was past president of the UMW and also held its lifelong membership. She also was active in the God's Helpers Day Circle at the church. Ella was the volunteer chairman of the American Cancer Society in southern Kossuth County. She also belonged to the Goodwill Club and the local canasta card club. Ella loved flowers, especially violets and roses. She en-joyed visiting and having coffee and tea with all of her "pop-in" friends. Ella loved her family, and especially enjoyed hearing about all of the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ella became a resident of the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona on April 19, 2002. She died there on Thursday (Jan. 1, 2004) at the age of 93. Ella is survived by her three sons, Jerry and wife Joan, of South Haven, Minn., LeRoy and wife Audrey, of LuVerne, and Charles and wife Nancy, of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Jordan, of Algona; one brother- in-law, Dr. Ralph Weber, of Bancroft, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin in 1987, and two brothers, Leo and Joe Jordan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in LuVerne with Pastor Remigio Panlaqui officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Irvington. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Garry-Roberts- Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in LuVerne.
