Thompson were married Aug. 29, 1852, in Dallas, Texas, to them were born eight children: 1. Sarah, born Nov. 6,1857, in Dallas, Texas 2. Barton S. born in 1859 3. Lillie Dale, born Apr.20,1861, in Titus Co. Texas 4. George, born in 1867, in Texas 5. Malinda, born in 1870, in Texas 6. Lula Jane (Janie), born in 1873, in Texas 7. Allie May, born July 4,1876, in Young Co.,Texas 8. Rutha B., born in 1883, in Texas Jackson Smith served in the Civil War and was a teamster. When the Smith family first came to Oklahoma, they lived near Marlow. Allie May, taught school, in a small country school house, near Marlow. Allie registered in the land drawing of 1901, that opened up Kiowa Co. Allie drew a quarter section of land, where the Green Valley Cemetary, is located. Allie, her parents, and others in the family, moved there, soon after the opening. Jackson Smith, died at their home at Green Valley, Dec. 7, 1902. He was buried near the corner of the home place. An iron fence was placed around the grave site, to keep the cattle off the grave. Martha E. Thompson Smith, died Apr. 20, 1907, and was buried next to her husband. When their daughter Rutha, died in Aug. of the same year, she was buried beside her parents. When the family sold the farm, they gave the corner of the farm to the community to be used for a cemetery.
