::Friona Cemetery--Friona TX

Ernest Anthony

FRIONA - Ernest Anthony, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m Tuesday in Friona United Methodist Church 
with the Rev. Don Boren, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in by 
EllisBlackwell Funeral Home.

Mr. Anthony was born in Hobart, Okla., and had lived in Friona since 
1924. He was a farmer and a member of Friona United Methodist Church, 
where he served as head usher. From 1978 until 1992, he was Parmer 
County Commissioner.

He married Evalyn Gibbs in 1941 at Hobart. She died in 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Elam of Friona; a son, James D. 
Anthony of Friona; a brother, Jean K. Anthony of Friona; two sisters, 
Zonah Bass of Friona and Patsy Copley of Louden, Okla.; friend, 
Daphene Galloway of Rocky, Okla.; five grandchildren; and nine 
greatgrandchildren.
