Bussey SNYDER — Graveside service for Willis R. Bussey, 88, Snyder, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, with the Rev. J.W. Denham, pastor, Saddle Mountain Kiowa Baptist Church, Mountain View, officiating. Mr. Bussey died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at a Snyder care center. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. He was born April 21, 1916, in Timpson, Texas, to Willis R. and Elizabeth Smith Bussey. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1936 where he played football. He married Winifred Alene Woodward in 1937 in Hobart. They were in the custom harvesting business for more than 25 years. He was a farmer and rancher all his life. He was a member of the O & O Riding Club and the Mountain Park Roping Club for many years. He was a member of Prairie View Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two children: Dixie Hill and Tommy Bussey and his wife, Bobbie, all of Indiahoma; two sisters: Thelma Green, Altus; and Velma Phelps, Vail, Colo.; five grandchildren: Shere Hill, Wade Hill and Toby Hill, all of Snyder; and Lesa Lafferty and Carrie Thomason, both of Indiahoma; seven great-grandchildren: Chase and Lauren Lafferty, Trace Thomason, Chigger and Chelsea Hill, Whitney and Krisee Hill; and a lifetime friend, Danny Kroeckel. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Stella Mae Smith, Maxine Helm and Mary Ann Barnes; and two brothers: Jim Bussey and H.K.
