Born 8/2/1946 Hobart, OK, died 9/30/2003, Oklahoma City, OK. Surviving Parents Wes and Oberia Beasley, Sisters Judy and Nita. Robert graduated in 1964 from U.S. Grant High School. As a young boy, Robert learned to love the Boy Scouts along side of his father. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He became active again in 1983 and shared his enthusiasm for the Boy Scouts with many through out his 20 years of service to Troop 179 and 173. As a volunteer Scout leader he devoted much of his life developing leadership, citizenship, self reliance and confidence in our youth. He had a special ministry and instilled in them many values and principles of God, country and family. He never stood so tall as when he reached down to help a boy. He was a tall outstanding example for all. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal. Long time resident of OKC and Warr Acres. He worked as Assistant City Inspector for Warr Acres. He was joined in marriage to Nila McCabe on Dec 27, 1968. Nila, their two sons, Shane Michael, and Ty Marshall, daughter-in-law Audra, and grandson Drake survive him. The many boys and adults throughout the country whose lives he has touched through Scouting also survive him. A viewing will be held at Mercer Adams on 10/02/03 from 8am to 9pm. The memorial service will be held at Hillcrest United Methodist Church on Friday 10/03/03 2:00 pm.
