Bailey was born Sept. 3, 1938 to Herbert L. and Hazel Love Bailey in Apache, OK. He passed away Jan. 25, 2003 in Oklahoma City at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer. He married Beverly Bodenstein in 1969 in Apache, OK. He was the manager of the T.H. Rogers Lumber Company in Apache for 12 years before moving to Clinton, OK to manage the T.H. Rogers Lumber Co. there. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton. He was also a member of Kiwanis of Clinton. He retired from T.H. Rogers in 1989 with 30 years service. He then worked a short while for Sears selling home improvement. In 1992 he bought and managed HiWay Inn Motel in Hobart where he resided at the present time. He was a member of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce. He served in the Army from 1962 to 1964. He was an avid Sooner fan, loved to golf, and travel with his family. He loved to read and watch Westerns. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one sister, Leatrice Williams, and one sister-in-law, Betty Powell Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home, two daughters and their husbands, Shelley and Jerry Ogle of Norman, OK and Danya and Danny Pickard of Harrah, OK. He has seven grandchildren, Dathon, Jordan and Kaylan Pickard, Trey Denton, Celia, Ryan and Jacob Ogle. Two sisters and their husbands, June and Jack Myers and Pat and Maurice Huber all of Oklahoma City. Four brothers and their wives, Lawrence Bailey of Albuquerque, NM, Walter and Robin Bailey, Dick and Wilda Bailey of Apache and Stanley and Betty Bailey of Cyril. He also had many neices and nephews. Services are being held at Apache FBC, Wed. at 2:00.
