Branch, born November 21, 1931 in Hanna, Oklahoma to O.A. Choate and Ruth Bean Choate, passed peacefully from this life in her sleep February 8, 2003. She died at her home in Oklahoma City after a length illness at age 71. Faye was raised in Hanna and graduated from Hanna High School in 1949. Following graduation, she attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked in the salon business in Oklahoma City for many years. But, she was always first and foremost a wife, mother and homemaker. On April 25, 1951 she was married to Otha Branch in Van Buren, Arkansas. Otha is also from Hanna. They made their first home in Hobart, Oklahoma where they were stationed by the Civil Aeronautics Agency (FAA). Their eldest son was born in Hobart. In October 1954, Faye and Otha moved their family to Oklahoma City when Otha was transferred to Will Rogers Field. Their younger son was born in Oklahoma City in May, 1955. Oklahoma City became their lifelong home. Faye was always very active in her childrens school and sports activities; as a Den Mother and coordinator for the Cub Scouts, PTA member and officer, and other activities and organizations throughout her son's high school and college careers. She also enjoyed needlepoint and other crafts, flowers and gardening, and particularly enjoyed the Azalea Festival in Muskogee when the flowers were in full bloom. Faye enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family as her health would permit. But, by far her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved all sports, especially when her sons or grandchildren were involved. She is survived by her husband, Otha, of the home. Two sons, Mike of Oklahoma City and Tim, his wife Jami and their children Jared and Mindy also of Oklahoma City. Her brother, Lloyd Choate and his wife Louise and their children Lloyd Wayne, Jim and Debbie of Mansfield, Texas, and a great aunt, Ruby Hames, of Oklahoma City. Along with many other relatives across the country and a host of friends. The family deeply appreciates all of the kind words of condolence they have received. Funeral services will be held at Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary, 6934 S. Western Avenue, on Tuesday, February 11, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim White officiating.
