Collins, 75, of Duncan went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church West, with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Jack was born March 22, 1923, in Hobart, to Charles Earl and Lillie O. Jones Collins. He married Marie E. Coyle on Jan. 1, 1948, in Wichita Falls. Mr. Collins was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy in the South Pacific. He worked for Sun Ray Refinery and later as an electronic technician. He and his wife owned and operated Collins TV and Sound in Duncan for over 40 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis club, Chamber of Commerce and Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church West. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Dennis E. Collins of Midwest City and Tom L. Collins of North Grafton, Mass.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Richard Newman of Duncan; four grandchildren, Amy Michelle Bruns, Mark Wayne Newman, Alicia Marie Collins and John Paul Collins; and three great-grandchildren, Abbey Marie Bruns, Jared Ryan Bruns and Jacob Richard Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Billie Earl Collins, on Sept. 9, 1924; and another brother, Charles Erwin Collins, on April 24, 1977. Bearers will be Richard Newman, Mark Newman, Jeremy Bruns, John Collins, Joe Schwartz and Jim Tredup. Honorary bearers are the former Sun Ray Refinery employees who worked with Jack.
