Ishmael Leland "Ish" Christian

Age 82, of Globe, passed away November 16, 2004, at Heritage Health 
Care Center. He was born in Mountain View, Oklahoma on October 3, 
1922, the son of Tersal Georgine (Tabor) and Charles Henry Christian. 
An Arizona resident since age eight, he graduated from Tucson High 
School in 1940. He proudly served his country in the Navy during 
World War II as a torpedoman in the division Loyal Shellbacks on the 
USS Dortch. He married his wife of 36 years, Mary (Huff) Christian on 
November 2, 1968. A retiree of University Mechanical Engineers and 
Constructors, Ish was a member of the International Brotherhood of 
Electrical Workers for fifty-five years, the United Association of 
Journeyman Plumbing and Pipefitting for forty-seven years and a 
member of the Elks for fifty-three years. Ish will be remembered, as 
a devoted and loving husband, father and grandpa, will be greatly 
missed. Left behind in loving memory are: his wife of 36 years, Mary 
E. Christian of Globe, AZ; son, Allan L. Christian and his fiancee, 
Patty Pavel of Fairfax, VA; daughters, Rita Hassard and her husband, 
Glen of Globe, AZ, Betty L. Bucks and her husband, Phillip of Tucson, 
AZ; granddaughters, Rita Lee Oldham of Globe, AZ, Manda Coe of 
Tucson, AZ; step-granddaughter, Paula McNutt and her husband, Warren 
of Globe, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Amber Martinez and Andrew 
Martinez of Tucson, AZ; and John Oldham and Curtis Oldham of Globe, 
AZ; brother, Dwayne Christian of Iowa; sister, Betty Jo Byrd of 
Willcox, AZ; brother-in-law, Bill Duncan of Catalina, AZ; nephew, 
David Christian and his wife, Leslie of Tucson, AZ. His parents and 
sister, Billye Duncan preceded him in death. Visitation will be held 
Tuesday, November 30, 2004, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral 
Services Globe Chapel. Services Tuesday, November 30, 2004, 1:00 p.m. 
at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland St., Globe, 
AZ. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ishmael Leland "Ish" Christian were 
entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
