All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Resthaven Memorial Gardens--Duncan OK Lawton Constitution 25 Jul 2003 Howard George Edwards Funeral for Howard George Edwards, 79, Central High, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Central Baptist Church, Central High, with the Rev. David Lawrence, pastor, officiating. Mr. Edwards died Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at his home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Duncan, under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born July 7, 1924, in Mountain Park, to Clifford G. Edwards and Nancy B. Cranfill Edwards. He grew up in the Indiahoma and Snyder area, and graduated from Snyder High School. He lived a brief time in Amarillo, Texas, before moving to Sterling and then later to the Central High Community. He worked in the Lawton Public Library, and Lawton Public Schools and FFA maintenance departments. He married Maria Estela Macias on Feb. 14, 1975. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters: Barbara Edwards, Chickasha; Brenda Parker, Lawton; Nora Lynn Sovo and her husband, Gene, Sterling; four stepsons and their wives: Barnie and Connie Banda, Fayetteville, Ark.; Ricky and Susan Banda and Steve and Deana Banda, all of Elgin, Texas; and Zeke and Kathy Banda, Cordova, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Lloyd Edwards and J.R. Wade Edwards; two sons: Frank Edwards and Johnny Edwards; and a stepgrandchild.
