Farris, 84, died Saturday, March 27, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Allie Balko, pastor of First Baptist Church in Wicket, officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mrs. Farris was born in Era and attended Draughn's Business College. She moved to Hart in 1944 from Sentinel, Okla. She was a homemaker, a hairdresser, and a member of First Baptist Church, and the Good Neighbor Club. She was Hart Days Pioneer of the Year in 1998. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Farris and Peggie Farris, and by two granddaughters, Tonya Cleaver and Kari Homfeld. She married Loyd W. Farris in 1934 at Hobart, Okla. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ronnie Farris of Dalhart, Billy Joe Farris of Hart and Ricky Farris of Dimmitt; a brother, Billy Haire of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
