Geis CHATTANOOGA — Funeral for Milton V. Geis, 91, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chattanooga First Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Rudek and Jamie Powell officiating. Mr. Geis died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Chattanooga Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick. He was born Nov. 3, 1911, in Gotebo, to Carl and Lydia Greb Geis. He graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1931. He married Emma Doris Krasser on Aug. 25, 1933, in Chattanooga. He was a farmer all of his life until his retirement. He was a member of Chattanooga First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School classes. Survivors include his wife, Lawton; four sons and daughters-in-law: Leroy and Ann Geis and Lynn and Ruth Geis, all of Chattanooga; Ray and Velma Geis, Smithfield, Va.; and John and Mary Geis, Weatherford, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary Ann and Paul David Carson, Chattanooga; and Koleta Washburn, Southeast Asia; two sisters: Vera Shirk, Chattanooga; and Viola Eddleman, Irving, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rex Geis; a granddaughter, Tammi Geis; and a son-in-law, Max Washburn.
