Gilliland, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Floydada with the Rev. Jimmy McGuire and the Rev. Anthony Sisemore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by MooreRose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mrs. Gilliland was born in Cooperton, Okla., and attended schools in Oklahoma and Arizona. In 1940, she moved with her family from Chandler, Ariz., to Floyd County. A homemaker, she was a member of Senior Citizens of Floydada and First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She married Levis B. Gilliland in 1941 at Floydada. He died in 1991. Survivors include three sons, Bill Gilliland of Abilene and Butch Gilliland and Bobby Gilliland, both of Floydada; five brothers, Bud Vickers and Bob Vickers, both of Lubbock, Stan Vickers of Perryton, Rannie Vickers of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Don Vickers of Floydada; four sisters, Juanita Stoeser of Hayes, S.D., Sammie McCullough of Amarillo, Frances James of Parkton, N.C., and Gayle Scott of Tulia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Floydada Senior Citizens, 301 E. Georgia, Floydada, TX 79235; First Baptist Church, 401 S. Main, Floydada, TX 79235; or Cory Gilliland Memorial Scholarship Fund, Community Foundation of Abilene, 500 Chestnut, Abilene, TX 79602.
