All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Grant, Mary Alyce Mary Alyce Grant was born on November 4, 1912 to Samuel Arch and Myrtle Shelby in Cold Springs, Oklahoma. She attended school in Snyder, Oklahoma and later at Classen High School in Oklahoma City where she Graduated. She attended Central State College (Now UCO) in, Edmond, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1933. She then taught school in Duncan, Oklahoma. In 1935 she was married to Gordon Brooks Grant. They resided in Edmond for the rest of their lives. They were both active in the Methodist Church and in civic activities. They had two children, Gordon W. and Mary Elaine. From 1958 to 1971 she taught home economics in the Edmond Public Schools. Her teaching career touched the lives of over 2000 students. In her later years she attended the local congregation of Jehovah"s Witnesses. Her daughter, Mary, died in 1974 and her husband, Gordon, died in 1991. They had been married 56 years. She is survived by her son Gordon of Edmond, and two granddaughters, Shelby Bixler and Lynn Zahn of Oklahoma City and two great granddaughters. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Baggerley Funeral Home 930 S.
