She was born November 24, 1935, in Roosevelt, OK to Ben R. and Etola (Hensley) Talley. She grew up in Roosevelt and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953. Koleata married Mervyn Hackney on her 18th birthday, November 24, 1953, in Clovis, NM while he was on military leave. They soon moved to New York City and then to Weatherford while Mervyn attended college there. They lived in Duncan, in Hobart 1960-1964 and in Shawnee for a short while. Koleata moved with her husband to Okarche in 1966 and to Surrey Hills in the early 1970's. She was active with her husband in the pharmacy business in Okarche and Surrey Hills for many years. Koleata was a member of the First Baptist Church, Piedmont, OK and was the founder of Robyn Promotions and Printing in Oklahoma City, OK. She enjoyed modeling and golfing. She is survived by her husband Mervyn of the home in Piedmont, OK; two daughters, Debra Lee Wiedemann and husband Dale, San Antonio, TX and Meleata Gaye 'Pete' Adamson and husband Bryan, Piedmont, OK; three granddaughters, Ashley Tanae Taylor and husband J. J., Piedmont, OK, Whitney Paige Latham and husband Gerard, San Antonio, TX and Alexandra Lee Adamson, Piedmont, OK; one great-grandson, Blaine Sutton Taylor, Piedmont, OK; one brother-inlaw, Lloyd Johnson, Garland, TX; and two sisters-in-law, Cotton Mathis, Roosevelt,OK and Kitty Lou Talley, Edmond, OK. Mrs. Hackney will be lying in state at the Smith-Turner Mortuary Inc., 201 E. Main St., Yukon, OK. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Piedmont, OK. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt Cemetery, Roosevelt, OK.
