KILLEBREW. A family Memorial Service for Inez will be held at a later date. Inez was born October 16, 1905 in Territory that later became the state of Oklahoma to Belle and Samuel Crane of Lone Wolf, Kiowa County. She came to Dona Ana County, New Mexico with her late husband, H. Heard Killebrew in 1930. Inez taught for a total of forty-five years, in Doña Ana County and thirty-six of those in La Mesa. She was awarded membership in the New Mexico NEA Southwest District Hall of Fame in 1973. She was an avid bridge player, fisherman and an active VolksWalker into her eighties; also, a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and past Royal Matron of Amaranth, as well as membership in two sororities. After retirement, she moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico permanently to operate and expand the summer business she and Heard had owned since 1950. Inez sold the Tepee Cabins and Mobile Home Park in 1993. Inez is survived by her daughter, Ruth Wiser of Las Cruces; three grandchildren, M. Dwayne Wiser and wife Carol of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, M.A. "Bud" Wiser and wife Odette of Gig Harbor, Washington and Janelle Drumm and husband Dominic of Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia; five great grandchildren and two great great- grandchildren. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the care and kindness extended to Inez and her family by the management and staff of The Heritage and Mesilla Valley Hospice.
