All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== George Franklin McGee DUMAS - George Franklin McGee, 76, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Scott Willingham, pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Tom Lane, senior pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, officiating. Additional services will be at 3 p.m. in Llano Mausoleum Chapel in Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. McGee was born in Lone Wolf, Okla., and had been a resident of Dumas since 1956. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1945 aboard the USS Ruben James. He was an operating engineer for Pantex and was a member of the Pantex Retired Operation of Engineers of Amarillo. He also was a member of First Baptist Church and the Dumas Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. McGee married Iola Moore in 1945 at Wichita, Kan. She died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Gene Blythe of Lubbock; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a friend, Lois Zint of Amarillo. The family will be at 815 N.E. 3rd. They request memorials be to the Moore County Girl Scouts, P.O. Box 194, Dumas, Texas 79029; or the First Baptist Church youth mission group, Box 617, Dumas, Texas 79029.
