"Mac" McCurry SNYDER — Funeral for Eldo D. "Mac" McCurry, 86, Snyder, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Snyder Church of Christ with Mike Hinton, minister, and Ardron Hinton, minister, Roosevelt Church of Christ, officiating. Mr. McCurry died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Altus. Burial will be at Mountain Park Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Lindale, Texas, to Asa and Alice McCurry. He graduated from Wapanucka High School in 1933 when he was 16. He worked for the federal government, the Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation. He worked on 12 projects and retired after 37 years of service. He married Joyce Chenault Archer on Aug. 7, 1969, in Las Vegas. He owned and operated the Tom Steed Bait Shop from 1988 to 1996. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Crowder. Survivors include his wife, of the home; four children: Jon McCurry and Brian McCurry, both of Davis; Ted McCurry, Roseville, Calif.; and Linda La Pierre, Yerington, Nev.; three stepchildren: Randy Archer, Mountain Park; Larry Archer, Lone Grove; and Jacqueta Narviaz, Las Vegas; two brothers: Odell McCurry, Wapanucka; and Dewey McCurry, Tucson; five grandchildren: Jason McCurry, Jodie Jennings, Byron McCurry, Aislinn McCurry and Jimmy Jackson; six stepgrandchildren: Amy Hill, Will Archer, Diedra Snyder, Brad Archer, Brian Archer and Kaye Winn; and 14 great-grandchildren: Jaylee, Jarod, Westin, Bryce, Maddie, Wyatt, Andrew, Dayton, Katelyn Isaish, Billy, Asja, Dakota and Colin. He was preceded in death by two sons: Michael and Denis; eight brothers: Curtis, Horace, Ellis, Watson, Lenis, Don, Daniel and Buford; and two sisters: Lucy and Eunice.
