He was born May 22, 1910 in Okc, Ok. to Charles and Edna Milligan. They moved to Hobart, Ok. when he was 5 years old where he resided for 80 years until recently moving to Blanchard, Ok. to be near his family. He entered marriage on April 8, 1933 to Macy Stephens. He farmed for several years before beginning work at Traders Compress. He served as District Superintendent for Southwest Okla. Later Superintendent of Shamrock and Wellington, Tx. He retired after 30 years of service. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving aboard the USS Hornet in the Pacific. After he retired, he and Macy spent many winters in Port Aransas, Tx. until his health prevented it. He was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman and family man. Survivors include his wife, Macy of the home in Blanchard, Ok. Three daughters, Pat Sproat of Pasadena, Tx., Gayle Hutcherson and husband Leon of Tuttle, Elizabeth E. Slater of Newcastle, Ok. Grandchildren: Rick Gibson, Gay Rawlings, Karmen Slater Earnheart, James A. Slater, Don L. Slater, Terry Sheehan, Connie Duke and Kelly Shephard along with their spouses. Ten great grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, two sisters, Elaine Turner and husband Barry of Okc, Ok. and Bobby Braun and husband Johnny of Wichita Falls, Tx. Three sister-in-laws, Blanche Morgan, Anna Wilsie, and Velma Noske. Poppa Don will be greatly missed by all. Pall bearers included grandchildren: Rick Gibson, Don and James Slater, Tim Sheehan, Jim Duke, Steve Rawlings and Fred Shephard. Services were held Friday, June 9, 1995 at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, Hobart, Ok. Rev.
