Ranzel Ellis Morgan

PLAINVIEW - Ranzel Ellis Morgan, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Kress with 
Murry L. Brewer, retired Baptist minister from Amarillo, and Jeffery Lee 
of First Baptist Church of Kress officiating. Burial will be in Plainview 
Memorial Park by WoodDunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Morgan was born in Hobart, Okla. He moved to Hale County in 1928 from 
Hobart. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1940. He served with 
the Army during World War II.

He married Doris Evelyn Monroe in 1941 in the Finney community of Hale 
County.

He was a farmer and a cattleman. He was a member and deacon of First 
Baptist Church of Kress and an RA church camp leader. He was a 4-H and FFA 
leader. He was an honorary chapter farmer with the Kress FFA. He was a 
member of the Kress Farmers Elevator board of directors.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by a son, Kent Dewayne Morgan, in 1974.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lynette Foster of Kress; two sons, 
Gary Morgan of Birmingham, Ala., and Russell Morgan of Rowlett; a sister, 
Frances Preston of Slaton; a brother, Mack Morgan of Hendersonville, 
Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
