Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at University Baptist Church, Arlington, with Dr. Greg Deering officiating. Burial: 1 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Jo was born May 19, 1929, to Joel and Ida Martin in Mountain View, Okla. He attended Garland High School and North Texas State University. Jo was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Martin Brothers Produce in 1993. Jo's loves included hunting and fishing. Jo was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Richard Martin. Survivors: Wife of nearly 51 years, Evelyn Briggs Martin; daughter, Debbi Chumchal and husband, David, of Mansfield; sons, Lance Martin of Burleson and Bruce Martin and wife, Paige, of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brooks Burris, Tanner Martin, Taylor and Shane Martin, and Mark, Aaron, Matt and Emily Chumchal; brothers and sisters, Bobby Martin and wife, Sue, of Aransas Pass, Virginia Brown of Plano, Larry Martin and wife, Sharon, of Nogales, Ariz., and Patricia Starnes and husband, Leland, of Leander; brother-in-law, Frank Briggs and wife, Gerri, of Odessa; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
