Nottingham 16 Jul 1916 - 19 Apr 2002 Funeral for Ruben A. Nottingham, 85, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Bible Church with Bill Yoast and the Revs. John Heidebrecht and Russell Schmidt officiating. Mr. Nottingham died Friday, April 19, 2002, in Lawton. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born July 16, 1916, in Mountain View. He married Hazel M. Smith on March 4, 1936, in Lawton. She died Nov. 17, 1992. He grew up in Lawton and worked as a cook at the Coffee Cup Café and later in the Cameron College cafeteria. He owned and operated the Copper Kettle Café until 1955, the Rock Castle and later at Ruben’s Café which he later relocated to Cache in the early 1970’s before retiring in 1980. He was a member of Faith Bible Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Eddie McKesson, Lawton; three sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Gloria Nottingham, Lawton; James and Monta Rae Nottingham, Duncan; and Larry and Barbara Nottingham, Indiahoma; a brother, Eldon Nottingham, Lawton; three sisters: Peggy Stewart, Pineville, La.; Judy Huff, Wichita Falls, Texas; and Mignon Williamson, Lawton; 14 grandchildren: Connie and Paul "Trey" Sale III; Debby and Glen Tuck; Michelle and Chuck Linderman; Tracey and P.J. Gibson; Kelly Nottingham; Larry Dewayne Nottingham; Linda McKesson; Dana and Mark Weed; James A. Freeman; Janay and Terry Roberts; Jimmy Neal and Van Nottingham; Lori and Scott Tuggle; Michael McKesson; and Corey Freeman; 17 great-grandchildren: Andrew Jenkins; Kyndall Harrison; Christopher Nottingham; Mike McKesson; Brandon Weed; Tyler Preece; Matthew Jenkins; Kallie Hunter; Brandon Nottingham; Molly McKesson; Matley Linderman; Shanna Pearce; Kyle Harrison; Lauren McKesson; Ashley Weed; Jordan Linderman; and Deryck Gibson.
