Mr. Osborne, a native of Lone Wolf, Kiowa county, Okla., served in the Army during World War II and participated in three major battles, including Anzio Beachhead in Italy. He received the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters and three Bronze Stars. A minister for 54 years, Mr. Osborne served as pastor of a church in North Long Beach for many years and did missionary work with several Indian tribes in Mexico and Arizona. He also served as chaplain and counselor at children's homes in Mesa, Ariz., and Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Osborne was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Youth Opportunity Unlimited. His family said he enjoyed reading and studying, especially the Bible. They said he wore out several copies. He also en-joyed television — especially game shows — bowling and golfing. Mr. Osborne had lived in Jamestown for 16 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Osborne of Jamestown; two children, David Osborne of Jamestown and Karen de Ridder of Chino Hills; nine grandchildren, Jim Osborne of Jamestown and Sherrie Crisp of Maui, Hawaii, both of whom he helped raise, Victoria Hurley of Sonora, John Hess of Soulsbyville, Tina Herrera of Chino, Terri Wilbur and Tracy Monteleone, both of Chino Hills, and David Osborne Jr. and Ashley Dawn Osborne, both of Albany, Ore.; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ermal Osborne of Alta Loma and Floyd Osborne of Fresno; and two sisters, Jean Scott of Sentobia, Miss., and Elsie Smith of Woodward, Okla. --------------------------------------------------------------------
