All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Rush Springs Gazette 16 Mar 2000 Paul William Rice Paul William Rice, 72, of Rush Springs died Friday March 10, 2000 in Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held on 2 p.m. Monday March 13, in the Southern Baptist Church with the Rev Elmer Whitehead officiating. Music was by Shanna Rice, soloist, and Geraldine Hale and Wanda Halbert, musicians. Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mr. Rice was born March 3, 1928 in Lone Wolf, the son of Hiram McMillin and Gladys Rice. He was married to Helen [Winch] Rice June 3, 1950 in Shawnee. He attended Lone Wolf and Hobart Schools. He had lived in Rush Springs since December 1954. He graduated from USAO in 1989 with a degree in sociology. He was employed with the U.S. Post Office and was a farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brother; one son, David Rice, and one grandson, Jason Burch. Survivors include his wife Helen Rice of the home, two daughters, Susan Burch and her husband Lowell f Tulsa and Cheryl Rollow and her husband Rick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Bill Rice and his wife Mary of Edmond and James Jackson and his wife Betty of Amarillo Texas; a brother Ed McMillin of Oklahoma City and a sister, Gladys Meek of Rush Springs; 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
