The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ********************************************************************** [Kiowa Co]unty Democrat Thursday, December 5, 1946 [vol. ?,] no. 11 Henry Romines Died Thursday Native of Tennessee Had Lived Here since 1909 Henry Romines, well-known and pioneer citizen of the Snyder community, died las Thursday night, and funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Saturday morning, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Foster G. Brown. Burial was made in Fairlawn Cemetery. Mr. Romines had been in failing health for some time, and was recently a patient in a Clinton hospital. Henry Charles Romines was born August 1, 1871, in Tennessee. He came to Oklahoma before statehood, and located in this community in 1909. He was united in marriage to Grace Allen Miller, and to this union six children were born. His wife and one son preceded him in death. He leaves four sons and one daughter to mourn his passing: Claude of Carmi, Texas; Bill and Charles of Fort Cobb; Harley of Monahans, Texas, and Mary Tyson of Amherst, Texas, all of whom were present for the services. There are 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also there are two brothers and twoi sisters: M. C. Romines of Tipton; D. R. Romines of Tuplo, Okla.; Mrs. Duncans of McKinney, Texas, and Mrs. Edwards of Grandfield. Preston-Leckie Funeral Home of Snyder had charge of the funeral arrangements. Included with the photocopy of the newspaper obit was a handwritten sheet of paper stating : "Information from Leckie Funeral Home in Snyder, OK" Henry Charles Romines born 8-1-1871 died 11-29-46 Father's name: John --------------- Renee L.
