"Curly" Schreiner, 75, Duncan, will be at 2 p.m. today at Fair Baptist Church, Empire, with the Rev. David Spangler officiating. Mr. Schreiner died Monday, July 22, 2002, in Duncan. Burial will be at Hastings Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters. He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Lone Wolf to Henry J. and Hazel Elene Horrocks Schreiner. He grew up in the Lone Wolf area, but finished school at Hastings. He served in the Army during World War II, and married Ruth Ely on Oct. 28, 1946, in Hastings. They lived in Hastings until 1953 when they moved to the Duncan area. He worked as a mechanic at Halliburton Services for 34 years and six months. He attended Fair Baptist Church, and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 55 and the VFW. He served on the Empire Volunteer Fire Department and was a Farm Bureau Board member. Survivors include his wife, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Matt Quigley, Eureka Springs, Ark.; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jay Schreiner, Jackson, Miss.; and Kirk and Connie Schreiner, Duncan; his sister, Beatrice Corcoran, Arvada, Colo.; four grandchildren: Lacey, Ashley, Katie and Cale Schreiner; other relatives and many friends.
