A native of Red Oak, OK, Bea moved to California in the early 1940's. Bea is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bobby Cates; her daughters, JoAnn Valadon, Karen Hullstrunk and her husband, John, Cathy Johnson, Brenda Martin, Deborah Vallejo; son, Bobby Cates, Jr., and his wife, Rosie; her sister, Christine Ramsey and her husband, Jim of Talahaina, OK; brothers, Jack Southard and his wife, Lois of Red Oak, OK, and Eugene Southard and his wife, Bobbi, 21 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Bea's family wishes to express a special "thank you" to Brenda for her many hours of loving care and devotion to our mother and grandmother during her long illness. Also to Pastor David Moore and wife, Kathy, for their support and comfort. Bea will always be loved and missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held at the Landmark Pentecostal Church of Kerman, 1050 S. Vineland, on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor David Moore.
