All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Billie (Billy) Lee Cleaver Services: Wed., Jan. 29, 2 p.m. Bill Cleaver passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2003, after a lengthy illness. Born on October 4, 1932, in Wilburton, Oklahoma, Bill lived most of his life in the Arvin/Lamont area. Bill was a private in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Lamont to live and raise a family. He was employed by Sunland Oil Refinery until his early retirement due to injury. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Lue Cleaver (of Lamont), and his brothers, Bobby Cleaver, Ray Cleaver, and Harold Cleaver. He is survived by his sister, LaVerne Hatfield of Bakersfield; and his daughters, Nancy, Cheryl, and Kathy; his grandchildren, Daylea and Spencer Hanzel, Tyler, Ashlie, Brittany, Shannon, and Sara will miss their Papa. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Wayne, Gary, Mark, and Jennifer Hatfield, Rick and Kevin Cleaver, Tami Healy, and Patty and Tammy Cleaver. The family wishes to thank his doctors and the staffs of Mercy Hospital and Delano Regional Skilled Nursing Facility for their care and compassion during the last difficult years.
