All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 27 September 2004 JACOB WALTER McBRIDE Funeral service for Jacob Walter McBride, age 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Lynn Parkhurst will officiate, and Rev. Kim Hayes will assist. Jacob Walter McBride was born the son of James David McBride and May Belle Gardner McBride on April 2, 1915, in Wilburton, Oklahoma. He died on September 25, 2004, in Chickasha. Walter moved to Chickasha at an early age. He married Helen Maxine Anderson on June 7, 1936, and they made Chickasha their home. Walter worked as a fireman for many years, retiring as a captain in 1966. During this time, he also worked in construction on the side. After retiring, Walter purchased Clyde's Cafe, which he owned and operated until 1980. He then began working full time with his son in building construction. Walter worked until he was 84 years old. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Helen McBride; parents, James and May Belle McBride; daughter, Charlotte Tozer; grandson, Michael McCool; two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include: daughter and husband, Carolyn and Marvin Sikes, of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Jaquetta Turner, of Cyril; son, Walt McBride, of Chickasha; sister, Katherine McCarthy, of Kingman, Arizona; brother, J. D. McBride, of Syracuse, New York; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
