Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with Dr. Charles R. Womack officiating. Interment: will be in Texas. A marker will be placed in the Lucas family plot in Centerpoint Cemetery in Wilburton, Okla. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Frances' name to Baptist Homes for Children, or a charity of choice. Frances Kathrine Lucas Richmond was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Oklahoma City. She and her husband moved to Arlington in September 2006 to be near their children. She was the oldest of seven children born to John David and Fannie Irene Johnston Lucas. She made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ as a child and lived her Christian life with faith and poise. Frances graduated from Wilburton High School in Wilburton, Okla., in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Paul Richmond, on Oct. 7, 1951. To this union were born one son and two daughters. Frances was the wife of a bi-vocational Baptist minister. She carried that title with grace and dignity. Frances worked as an administrative assistant for various organizations. She loved working for the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, located in Richmond, Va. Frances and her husband participated in three short-term mission trips overseas. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Bethany, Okla., where she was active in Woman's Missionary Union and taught a women's Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Tommy and Charles Lucas. Survivors: Her husband of Arlington; children, Joe David Richmond of Dallas, Paula Kay Honeycutt and husband, Ben F., of Frisco and Martha Fay Kidwell of Arlington; grandchildren, Mary Sanchez and husband, Joe, Joe Kidwell and wife, Jessica, and Michelle Kidwell, all of Arlington; great-grandson, Joseph Paul Sanchez of Arlington; sisters, Betty LeFlore and husband, Rommie, of Vian, Okla., LaDawn Jones and husband, Paul L., of Fort Gibson, Okla., and Helen Caldwell and husband, Cody, of Tahlequah, Okla.; brother, David Lucas and wife, Janice, of Tuskahoma, Okla.; two aunts; and a host of cousins and friends.
