Strong, age 88 years, died at his home east of Wilburton Friday night and was buried at the Lutie Cemetery Monday afternoon. R. W. Lackey, pastor of the Baptist church, conducted the services. The deceased was born October 5, 1840, in West Virginia. He was a Union soldier in the Civil war, serving in company M, 2nd Regiment of the Missouri cavalry. He came to Latimer County in 1911. Mr. Strong is survived by his wife, two sons, Bill and James of Wilburton, and three daughters, Mrs. J. H. Cook of Tulsa; Mrs. Sallie Dyer of Chester, Ark., and Mrs. Georgia Hogsett of Teslado, New Mexico. Two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Balew of Kansas City and Mrs. Ellen Rankin of Chester, Ark., also survive him.
