All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Evergreen Cemetery--Tucson AZ Shelton Jr., William "Bill" WILLIAM "BILL" SHELTON, JR. 80, of Tucson, passed away on April 18, 2007. He was born in Okay, Oklahoma, on May 16, 1926, the son of William and Anna Shelton. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pauline. He is survived by sons, Danny (Tana) and Paul (Sue) Shelton, both of Tucson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Will, Michelle, Austin, Mick and Brett and four great- grandchildren, Marina, Miles, Marlee and Kayli. Bill met his wife and lifelong best friend in grade school at Okay, OK and they were married in 1947, after Bill's return from naval service in WWII. Before moving to Tucson in 1993 to be near their two sons and their families, Bill had lived in Oklahoma City. He had worked for the Federal Aviation Administration Aeronautical Center since 1956. In Oklahoma City, Bill was an active and devoted member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church and later Putnam City Baptist Church until moving to Tucson. At the time of his death Bill was a dedicated and vital member of his congregation at Northwest Baptist Church of Tucson. His love, generosity and unselfish spirit were an inspiration to all those who knew him. His many acts of charity and attention to the needs of those less fortunate touched the lives of so many. Bill was the most devoted husband, father and grandfather any family could every pray for. Our hearts are heavy with our great loss but we rejoice in the knowledge of his eternal home in glory with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held today, Friday at 3:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made in the name of William Shelton, Jr. to the Northwest Baptist Church, 2926 W. Curtis Rd., Tucson, AZ 85705.
