She was born in Gowen, Oklahoma, the eighth child of John C. and Odessa (Lowe) Miller. Ruby grew up in the Mesa area where she attended Alma School and Mesa High School. She graduated from Mesa High May 1943. She attended the School of Nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital 3 year diploma program. She graduated from Nursing School Sept. 20, 1946 and received her license as a Registered Nurse after taking State Board. Ruby served in the Cadet Nursing Corp. during World War II. Ruby married Rodger Albert Strehlow August 21, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They made their home in Urbana/Champaign, Illinois where he was a professor at the University of Illinois at Champaign. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, John Charles and James Edward Strehlow; her parents; four sisters; and four brothers. Surviving are six grandchildren in Illinois and Colorado; two great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law; Cindy of Urbana, Illinois; two younger sisters living in the Tempe, Arizona area, Naomi (Miller) Fitzgerald and Betty (Miller) Thompson. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews living in Arizona and elsewhere. Interment will be in Champaign, Illinois where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, family has asked for Memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O.
