Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home of Ringling. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Ringling. Edith was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Marysville, Texas, to Benjamin Franklin and Mattie Francis Norvell Davis. She married Luie Watkins on Feb. 23, 1935, in Courtney. He preceded her in death in 1976. Edith moved to Oklahoma with her family at the age of 2 and was raised in Courtney. She was a member of the Petersburg Home Demonstration Club and the First Baptist Church in Ringling. She taught Sunday school at Courtney and at Centerpoint. Edith was known everywhere for her handwork and crafts. She loved to visit with people and was a Christian witness to everyone she came in contact with. Edith was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Carolyn Watkins of Ringling, and Starriett and Carolyn Watkins of Waurika; a brother, Odis Davis of Nocona, Texas; a sister, Lawana Forsythe of Wilson; and five grandchildren and their spouses, Mechelle and Mil Mijanovic of San Marcos, Calif, Craig and Cindy Watkins of Ardmore, Starriett Bennett and Samantha Watkins of Port Lava, Calif., Christopher and Raquel Watkins of Waurika; and Jarriett and Veronica Watkins of Fort Cobb.
