Surnames: Blue Thompson Originally posted at: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UaB.2ACI/1492 Jimmy Charles Blue Services for Jimmy Charles Blue, 73, Sulphur, were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 at Sandy Baptist Church in Sulphur with Pastor Leslie Clark officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Baptist Cemetery with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born December 10, 1932 in Talihina to Charlie E. Blue and Georgia (Thompson) Blue, he died Saturday, Feb. 25 in Muskogee Veterans Hospital. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a retired Turner Falls park police superintendent. He married Julia Mabel (Brown) Blue in 1952. She preceded him in death. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and decided to make it his career. He served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He served with 101st Airborne Division in 1968 and completed a second tour of duty in 1970 as an advisor to the South Vietnamese Army. He was a drill instructor at Fort Bragg, N.C., Fort Lewis, Wash., and Fort Polk, La. After retiring in 1973, he worked as a correctional officer for the State of Oklahoma at Lexington. From 1977 to 1989, he worked for the City of Davis as a Turner Falls park police officer, retiring as superintendent from that office. In 1992, he worked as a security guard for the Carl Albert Indian Health Facility until his final retirement from public service. Surviving are a son, Michael D. Blue and wife, Mary Jane, Broken Arrow; a daughter, Teresa Kaye Buck, Ada; four grandchildren, Shonda Irizarry, Kristi Blue, Dustin Buck and Shala Buck; two great grandchildren, Madison Blue and Tristen Irizarry.
