Visitation: Saturday Nov. 11, 2006 Service: Saturday Nov. 11, 2006 Cemetery: Fort Coffee Cemetery Joe Nathan Bluford was born the fifth child of Nathanial and Ethel Bluford (both deceased). Joe was born in Peno, Oklahoma on February 9, 1942. He attended Spiro High School. He met and married Altha Raye (Steele) Bluford December 9, 1961. From this union was born two children; Keith Bluford, Sr., and Alesia Bluford. Joe and his family moved to Minneapolis in 1965 where he trained and became a carpenter. For the last 25 years he was employed by the city of Minneapolis. Joe departed this life on Sunday evening, November 5, 2006, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He leaves to cherish him, his wife, Altha of the home; two sons, Keith Bluford and wife Robin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Daniel Phillips of Spiro, Oklahoma; one daughter, Alesia Bluford of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers, Harold Bluford of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Charles Bluford of Minneapolis, Minnesota; five sisters, Laverne Cole of West Memphis, Arkansas, Nancy Phillips of Killeen, Texas, Emma Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, Alice Castlebury of West Memphis, Arkansas and Doris Lewis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Keith Bluford, Jr., Amanda Bluford, Brandon Bluford, Matthew Bluford and Isaiah Bluford and a host of brother and sister- in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
