She passed away September 9, 1999, at the Talihina Manor Nursing Home, Talihina, Oklahoma. She resided her whole life in Haskell and LeFlore Counties, except for three years in Pennsylvania. Birdie loved the Kiamichi Valley and lived there continuously since 1934. She was a member of the Two-Mile Church of Christ at Muse, Okalhoma. Birdie was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Agnes Woolridge Harris; a son, Eugene R. Smith; a brother, Boyd Woolridge; a half-sister, Topsi Adkins Davis; a half-brother, Oscar Shopshire; first husband, Roy Smith, and second husband, James Carver. Survivors include a daughter, Delora Mae Smith Rogers King; a son, Thomas R. Smith; half-brother Thomas Shopshire; 10 grqndchildren, Gary Lyle Smith, Susie Smith Erwin, Tommie Smith Prince, Robert Smith, Brenda Kay Rogers Watt, Sandra Rogers. Glenda Mae Rogers Addison. Lena Renee Rogers, Katherine Virginia Smith Coffee and Thmas K. Smith; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren. Kathy Pitts
