Edward was born on August 24, 1924, to Pat and Gert Garrett in Clovis, New Mexico. Edward was a member of the United Union of Roofers & Waterproofers & Allied Workers. He was a self-employed as a roofer. Edward was preceded in death by his parents. Edward is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; five sons, Jay Garrett of Vermont, Jerry Vadnais of Talihina, Oklahoma, Mike Vadnais of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Pat Vadnais of Cosebay, Oregon, and Jack Vadnais of Napa, California; two daughters, Flossie and Paul Arnold of Dallas, Texas, and Jeanie Holland of Poteau, Oklahoma; a sister Billie Hamilton, of Atlanta, Texas; a special friend, Shirley Hamilton of Talihina, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends. Pallbearers will be Earl Holland, Russell Holland, Tommy Wageman, Tim Holland, Blake Wageman, Tanner Trowbridge, Wayne Talley, Tommy Edwards, and Wes Thornhill. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 12, 2005, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Holcomb and Jeff Little officiating the services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. Interment will follow at Talihina Cemetery in Talihina, Oklahoma.
